I thought it was funny. That fan was taking out the frustration of an entire fan base. It's like, what else would you expect in NY?
I don't hate New Yorkers, or anyone because of where they're from. Things like this reflect on individuals, not groups.
I also don't think that's funny. I didn't find the fan interference at Dodger Stadium in the divisional round versus the Padres funny. What on God's earth goes through someone's mind that makes them think they have the right to interfere with the game? Or even in the absence of the "right," that it's a good idea? Or that it's funny? It's an abomination. I despise it. Respect the game. Respect the players.

I get it. I get all of that. FWIW I'm a Red Sox and Dodgers fan. But I didn't grow up a Red Sox fan, ergo have no hate for the YankeesDisclaimer: I'm a Yankees fan.
I didn't mind it too much because it wasn't a possible home run ball or anything, just a foul, and it didn't impact the game at all. Torres was going to be out either way. As far as fan interference goes, it was inconsequential.
But that moment did feel like a manifestation of the collective frustration for all Yankees fans.
The future of sporting events in the US is going to look like soccer matches in England where there are 20' high fences around the bottom row of the stadiums to keep the fans from interfering with the game or throwing things onto the field. Look at the UGA/Texas game where fans threw bottles onto the field and actually intimidated the referees into reversing a call. That sent a signal to all fan bases that behavior like that will be rewarded. The officials should have let the call stand, penalized Texas 15 yds for the crowd throwing things onto the field and another 5 yd penalty for delay of game on Texas for the cleanup time. There were several games last week where fans threw things onto the field when they were unhappy with calls so it is obvious the precedent has been set and the behavior will continue.I get it. I get all of that. FWIW I'm a Red Sox and Dodgers fan. But I didn't grow up a Red Sox fan, ergo have no hate for the Yankees
Totally get catharsis for a fan base. Hell, I'm a Gamecock.
But my personal stance on fan interference, and fan behavior in general, stands. These idiots who go to golf tournaments and yell "mashed potatoes" and whatever the hell they yell - I wish they'd get kicked out too.
I just wish everyone would behave with manners and kindness and decency. Like my momma raised me.
I agree...this isn't funny. A fan grabbing the glove and ripping the ball out isn't funny. That's the kind of action that has the potential for injury as well as an obvious fan interference call. Not cool at all. If I were the Yankees those guys wouldn't ever be welcomed back to Yankee Stadium.I don't hate New Yorkers, or anyone because of where they're from. Baseballer is reporting the fans are saying that they are being allowed back for Game 5 tonight. ESPN is waiting on confirmation from the Yankees front office.I don't 'hate' them, but they are a couple of turds for that. Glad to read that they were kicked out. Like someone mentioned above, I would be fine with them being permanently banned.
Fan interference? Yes it happens everywhere.Yeah this never happens anywhere else ever lol...
There was another video released today (couldn't link it) that showed the two guys being escorted out of the stadium. The fans were cheering them on the way out and one guy got a hug.I don't hate New Yorkers, or anyone because of where they're from. Things like this reflect on individuals, not groups.

They are all part of the same boorish constituency. There was another video released today (couldn't link it) that showed the two guys being escorted out of the stadium. The fans were cheering them on the way out and one guy got a hug.
There's at least one famous video showing exactly that.I would love someone to try and run out on a football game and take the ball. Some people are smart buts and think they can do whatever they like.
I doubt they will incline toward such reprehensible behavior.
One thing…that kid is having a great time tonight.I doubt they will incline toward such reprehensible behavior.
I agree that it should never happen but I did have a bit of respect for him....he was doing what he could to help his team get back in the seriesFan interference? Yes it happens everywhere.
Grabbing the player's glove and free hand, and then trying to pry the ball from his glove to make it look like he didn't catch it? Not so much.
No true baseball fan has any bit of respect for actions such as those.I agree that it should never happen but I did have a bit of respect for him....he was doing what he could to help his team get back in the series
Congratulations, @USCBatgirl21. Your fanhood deserves occasional gratification. One thing…that kid is having a great time tonight.
I, on the other hand, am glad I was generous with the pour of Makers tonight.
My contempt for him is boundless. How did it work out for him? I say, "Thank you, God."I agree that it should never happen but I did have a bit of respect for him....he was doing what he could to help his team get back in the series
never said I was a true baseball fanNo true baseball fan has any bit of respect for actions such as those.
How did it work out for him???...he's nationally known and thousands cheered him as he was escorted outMy contempt for him is boundless. How did it work out for him? I say, "Thank you, God."
And, no, I am not a Dodger fan. I grew up a Yankee fan in the Mantle, Maris, Richardson era, but the Yankees left me when CBS bought the team in 1964 and wrecked it. The Braves came South soon after and they are the only thing that can excite me about Major League baseball today.
and had segments about him on every sports show across the country....sounds like it worked outHow did it work out for him???...he's nationally known and thousands cheered him as he was escorted out....are you nationally known or ever been cheered????
Infamous is what he is to all but the Cretans. How did it work out for him???...he's nationally known and thousands cheered him as he was escorted out
I agree 100%. This type of behavior deserves ridicule and banishment, and the juvenile cheering only reinforces the view that ours is a society in rapid decline.Infamous is what he is to all but the Cretans.
it's all about the 15 minutes of fame.....some have done much much worse to obtain itInfamous is what he is to all but the Cretans.
