And now the push back from the other side: begins

What's Bud Light's move here? They've got to pick a side. Neutrality is not allowed. Both sides want total capitulation.

At this point I would pull all media advertising. Leave it up in ballparks. Go dark. They’re at a point where both sides are fighting a proxy culture war with their brand.

Disappear for a month or two and people will
move on.

More than doubled now...$74/mth.
My cable service used to be Comcast but is now xfinity. My bill went up from $172/mo. to $235 this month. I have been a customer since 1993 and they know that. I called and raised hell when I FINALLY got through the damned phone answering machine to a real person. I threatened to cut the cord and they told me to hang up and somebody would be calling me back soon. They did call back but told me that my special deal had ended. I asked for a new deal and they came back with: All the same except my internet speed would be increased to 10g speed. My bill would be lowered to $214. When I get my bill yesterday, all the fees, taxes, etc. they add came to $241. I ain't happy but I do like the speed.

Don't think so!
Once on board with the trans narrative, you can't get off. They will demand it.
Former Bud Lite drinkers will not forget - once they switch to another beer of choice, they will not go back.
A-B (Bud Lite) had a business which basically ran it's self until someone "smart" royally screwed it up.

I don't know why, but it's entertaining to watch.

Problem with going dark is that there's already been a nearly 40% shift in sales for Bud Light to Coors. Bud Light is down more than 20% and Coors is up nearly 20%. It's one thing for your sales to be down. It's another for your competitor's to be skyrocketing.

And now you've got both sides pissed off, and one side in particular is known to not let things go.

You could be saving at least $100/mth by going to YTTV and shopping internet.

The problem as I see it for them now is that anything they do will be seen as disingenuous. Now you've got both sides involved. When it was just the conservative, anti-trans segment, people said it was just manufactured rage. Now that the LGBT segment is starting to boycott, that argument doesn't work anymore. Short of totally denouncing one side or the other, the opposing side will not appeased. Each side is now demanding BL's full endorsement and repudiation of the other side.

I quit drinking bud light several years ago when I found Yuengling light tasted better and fewer carbs. Anyway, if bud light wants to win back conservative drinkers without alienating the lgbtqxryz community, they need to start a huge campaign for the military, and dump a bunch of money into supporting our troops. Current, wounded, families of fallen soldiers, etc, and make it as visible as possible

Buying back outdated beer, attempting to sell Bud Light at zero cost with rebates (and failing), paying distributors and sales people for not selling beer - sounds like a winning strategy! Let's continue to support what got us here!

Neither. Oberon is my Summer beer of choice. Comstock MI. Bells Brewing.
My only feeling worth offering Bud light is missing real creative advertising such as "I love you Man" circa late 90's. Certainly, an appeal to their actual customer and not a play to the woke.

The fascinating thing is how it organically moved from a boycott to a cultural phenomenon. Now people just don’t wanna be seen drinking a Bud Light. Even if they have no particular feelings about the boycott. Or even know what the boycott was about. It’s just kind of become a thing to not drink it

The ignorance of the public shows in cases like this. If you want to boycott Bud Light yet but another A-B product (Michelob Ultra), you are not hurting them.

If you go to a product from another distribution corporation i.e. Coors or Miller, A-B will have to react with changes at some point.

A-B has a huge image problem at this point as reality has set in on this issue.

Some are oblivious however. Saw a 40-50 yr old guy walking out of the grocery store with a suitcase of Bud Light and asked if he was supporting A-B and he asked me what I was talking about? When I explained, he thanked me and told me he did not watch the news and had no idea. He took it back in the store and exchanged it.

Sorry I don`t care what they do. They can put out all of the pro-America/military/family endorsements they can, but THAT would be disingenuous. Plenty of beers to pick from. I`m largely going with craft beers, mostly local, as a lot of the big corporations are woke but maybe don`t want you to know it. Now staying away from Target, Kohls, hearing about Macys, etc. - all of them with offensive stuff to a lot of us. And, no, we don`t hate anyone, we are not bigots. I tolerate and accept just about anyone, but previous poster said it best. There`s a difference in encouraging tolerance/acceptance and getting radical(to a lot of us) notions and being called names, etc. if you object. The worst is the "gender affirming care" issue, which is another liberal label that makes no sense(i.e. the Inflation Reduction Act, which should have been the Inflation Production Act. It should actually be called "gender reversing procedures," as what they do to these kids is certainly no form of "care." They are "affirming" a mental belief but actually changing their gender. It is despicable when many of them(no not all) are going through something temporary. To give minors hormones, cut off body parts, etc., before they are 18 should be outlawed, should be criminal. The medical professionals involved with that stuff should have their licenses permanently revoked and they should be prosecuted.

As I've stated in other posts, the medical community (not all) and the AMA in particular have been ethically corrupted and it was jump started with the Covid vaccines and masking nonsense. Formally trusted institutions are being picked off one by one just like the judicial system (now the injustice system), education systems, law enforcement, etc.!

Vanderbilt U was highly involved in conducting mastectomies and chemical castrations until Matt Walsh met with TN reps. now if they get paid a lot of money to conduct, what side of the issue do you suppose they are on? They are all for convincing parents this is the best course for their young, confused child to make irreversible changes. It's good for business. Truly root cause is parents buying into the narrative. All pay to play would not exist without the customer. I was always surprised Corona Beer didn't suffer more sales loss during the beginning of the pandemic. Probably because there was a massive Vaccine Ponse scheme in place distracting away from common sensibilities.

I like beer. That said I rarely drink it anymore because it packs the pounds on. Given that I like the taste of beer, light beers are not usually on the menu. Between Bud Light and Miller Lite, the latter has more taste, though not great. So my answer is I was anti-Bud Light (and light beers in general) way ahead of the curve. If I really liked it I probably would not engage in a boycott. Since it tastes like water it's easy to avoid. A-B is basically disowning the who situation, saying it was done by an independent ad agency.

I greatly prefer some craft beer with taste. I like IPAs. But I've determined it's easier to keep the weight off with straight bourbon, if you can keep yourself from going crazy on the stuff. I can't really drink heavily without feeling ill, so I do pretty well with bourbon in moderation. Also, I'm on a good health kick and seeing the benefits.

“Less filling!”

I really do not believe most people thought this thing had the legs to last more than a few weeks, certainly not well into summer. But here we are in August, with the biggest part of summer behind us and Bud Light has not moved the needle one bit. It’s a total takedown of an iconic American brand.

And what really blows your mind is others are following in A-B's footsteps with no regard for their employees, investors, or customers - pure woke politics funded by Blackrock (or defunded if you don't go along)!
The lesson has not been learned 🤷‍♂️

I ma personally surprised. I thought, like many, that the short attention span of the American would make this very temporary. I guess I was wrong.

I think the in your face, we don't give a sh*t attitude of the CEO p*ssed people off enough that they've turned their backs on the brand for good. Should have fired the CEO instead of laying off employees!

I used to drink Bud Light, but not anymore. If I need a lousy beer I grab a Corona or Miller Lite.

It's hilarious that their sales are way down because people are upset that an ad offends their politics instead of because it's just an utterly crap product.

But hey, there are plenty of other crap beers to choose from.....
Not hilarious. That Mulvaney guy/girl is creepy AF, and whatever you may think, when corporations start shoving political correctness down our throats via an innocent beer, it’s a step too far. We drink Bud Light because we want a mindless buzz, and cheap escape from all the SH*T in our daily lives, and then we see this weirdo smiling at us from our aluminum can? F that.

Really they just found themselves in a pretty unique position. There was NO way for them to satisfy both consumer groups. Both sides were demanding total capitulation.

Kevin O'Leary gave some interesting perspective on just how staggering the drop has been: "the biggest moves in the beer market were measured by 1 to 5% in a year. That's an extraordinary volatility. To lose 25% market share has never been achieved, and it's impossible to even dream it."
