I've still got a bunch of box tops and a few subway "free sub" cards lying aroung somewhere if that will help.

It was a fake donation. Media stunt.
It wasn't fake but we spun the hell out of it to get media attention. It was an $8 million "pledge". The Bulldog Club received $2 million with the remaining 6M promised over a period of time. The money also goes to the state excellence fund that falls under the Bulldog Club's purview. It was not made to the Bulldog Initiative for NIL. Either way, it is a very nice gift to the university.

It’s a very nice gift. And, assuming paying players directly becomes a reality & all the collectives get merged in with the athletic departments, will be available to pay players at some point in the future. But alone it’s not enough. We need a LOT more rank & file contributors. And a few more really big donors.

Put it on baseball. We can win another Natty in that sport, it's always on ESPN and we can enjoy watching it and going to games.
We lost a baseball player we really, really wanted to a school who barely has a NIL fund… that’s how bad the baseball crootin staff is.
