other than the ball game, I was extremely upset that the event staff prevented me from taking in a nylon "tote" bag with draw strings that had my cowbells, jacket, etc. Seems like they were allowing in the same size or larger bags with cloth handles, but draw string nylon bags were out. Seems like some genius in the athletic department suddenly decided they could no longer be brought in, even though I have been bringing it in for 5 years..Great way to start the ballgame with me( and other people) arguing with the event staff at the gate, and seeing lots of nylon bags already on their "confiscation" tables. How about the athletic department notifying people in advance of changes, instead ot telling them at the gate that they have to take their stuff back to the car, or dump everything out and give them the nylon bag. The policy is idiotic in the base case and the moron who suggested it should be fired, but if they implement some new policy, is it too much to ask them to notify people in advance viaemail or twitter? The game day experience has improved a thousand percent, but when they do arbitrary crap like this, it reallypisses me off. Who the hell wants to walk back30 - 45 minutes to their carbecause "sombody" decided thatdraw string nylon bags werenot allowedto be brought inside the gate any more. When we kept askingthe event staff what the difference was in the bags, they could not tell us. No big surprise.

A few years ago when they were really into stopping people from making videos at SEC games- I went into the gate on the south (junction) side. A black Leona Helmsley told me that I could not carry my carmera into the stadium because it also made videos. Was told if I want to enter I would have to return the item to my car. After saying that i always brought the camera to games and never had a problem she then yelled for security.
Went over to the north side and had no trouble getting inside the stadium. And to this day never had a problem and still carry the same camera.

was running late and hurrying to get into the stadium so three high school young men with me could see the pre-game patriotic show. These young men were playing in a preseason basketball tournament, and we had literally left right after their game headed for Starkville. As we started toenter the band began the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" song and this guy stops us at the gate although all four of us had our tix in hand. He said we had to stand there until the show ended; he refused to take our tix and began telling me he was a Vietnam veteran and it would be disrespectful for us to continue into the stadium. I was astounded. The very reason we were hurrying to get there was related to patriotism. I attempted to reason with the guy, telling him how much I appreciated his service, but he would not listen. When I began to loudly express my dissatisfaction another guy walks over and allows us to go in. It seems it wasn't the first time the guy had been a problem; it was my first and only problem ever entering the gate of any football stadium. One of the young men with me was quite an athlete who later went to TSUN and ran track. It was his first time at Scott Field and probably his last.

No reason given. Not knowing that, I went in w/ one and had 2 people look in mine but said nothing about it and walked right in. I will ***** about the East side Junction end entrance. There were only about 3 or 4 entrances open for the regular public which had loooong lines. There must have been at least that many or more that were for "wristband" fans. I counted 20 people at those gates standing there w/ their fingers in their mouth or up their asses w/ nobody entering those gates at all. Enough people started bitching that they finally opened up a couple of them for everyone.
