Anybody hear anything about an apartment fire in Starkville that killed 9??**

It was at Spruill Townhouses. As many as nine (6 adults 3 children) died.

There was a bad fire around 1998 in that complex that killed a few people.

ETA: That might not be the same apartment, but it sounds familiar and is close to the location of where Spurill is.

at first it did say Spurill. I'm not sure what Academy Crossing is. Is it the little apt complex that was right beside the Lutheran church, kind of across the street from that car wash?

that is awful... I've never been in a fire but my first thoughts are how good were the efforts to get everybody out.... I know, I know...I wasn't there-... but that is about as sad as it gets

I found a Google Street View of where this is..If your coming up Old Highway 25 and when you see the Shell at Academy Road, just on the left before the gas station is the apartment complex where it happened..So sad
