Guy I spoke with indicated that Montgomery has a girl friend at LSU. He seemed to be more optimistic about getting Holman than most and less optimistic about getting Montgomery than most. Could be false news but I trust this guys insight based on his connections.

The girl in question transferred to Texas.

If we only get one, we'd rather get the pitcher, right? I've seen Montgomery play and realize he's a stud/1st round pick, don't know much about the pitcher.

If we had to only get one, I’d take the pitcher (his stats from last season are listed below). But Montgomery would bring a lot of positive press to our school due to his high draft projections. And it would potentially give us the most talented batting lineup in states history. Both will be true juniors, I believe, and draft eligible next year.

Holman (Alabama) (uncommitted) finished with a 3.67 ERA and a 7-4 record over 15 starts. Over 81 innings pitched, Holman gave up 54 hits, walked 31 and struck out 87.

I'll be surprised and happy if we land either one. But the pitcher is more important for our needs.

Last season for Stanford, Montgomery hit .336, 61 rbi, 17 hr, and 51 walks. He runs like a deer, fields his position very well, and wants to pitch more at his next destination.

he is rumored to be able to hit 97mph on the radar gun but doesn’t have other pitches that are well developed. Stanford coaches tried to talk him out of pitching but he is determined. I can get the coaches side because pitching increases his chances of getting injured before the draft. He had a very high era on the mound last season in limited innings.

If we land both of those guys we are the poor man's LSU for 2024.

Which really does make so much sense.

College baseball is so much like travel ball it's eerie. All we need now is to break out the gold, silver and bronze bracket college world series. We already have A, AA, AAA. Pretty soon we might have a breakaway and they'll be the Majors.

That ERA is in line with the rest of our pitching staff we are bringing back. If to get him all I gotta do is promise more time on the mound, no problem. Looks like he will fit right in with the rest of our staff.

I know a fat girl who is looking for a boyfriend. Maybe we can hook her up with him. She said that she did some SI swim suit work if that helps.

When I was at State, one of my Electrical Engineering professors had a son who ended up playing in the majors. According the the professor, he went to one of the Texas schools because they gave his girlfriend a full scholarship for playing tuba.
