Anyone else who attended the game find the WVU fans to be rude, nasty, inhospitable and low class?

Future meth cooks and UPS drivers... let's be honest, what high school student really has WVU as there top choice? It is a school for kids that can't get into App State
Plenty of kids who cant get in other places still go to WVU but their school is getting better and yes some kids do have it as their first choice, those going in to petroleum engineering. Marietta Ohio is the top school for that discipline but WVU has made strides in all engineering fields.

I am seeing more and more kids from MD and northern VA head to WVU specifically for the merit based scholarships.

My cousin just got a full ride on a music scholarship to WVU. I don't know that they have a lot of interest in academics outside of music, but they're very talented and this is a good fit.

Same for me. Son and I wore our Penn State shirts at Nebraska and met lots of friendly folks. We arrived 5 hours early for Ohio State, ate across from the campus.
The most unfriendly group ever.
I lived with those people in Columbus for 18 years. They were fine until they discovered that either you didn’t go to Ohiya Tate or root for them. Then they ran the spectrum from ignoring you to being downright hostile. At times it made for an unpleasant atmosphere at work.

And petroleum engineering is now top five.
That’s impressive if true. Perhaps I am bias from my trip there sophomore year in 1984. I could not believe low class , backwards-*** people existed in modern times in this country. Maybe things have changed but based on OP original question I’m guessing not really

You do realize that was *40* years ago, right?

WV who has serve money problems ,they are way over budget. They had to shuttle several majors undergrad and a few in grad school, including math. Not happy times

Not sure why App State is referenced here, but I do recall them beating Michigan, which seems to be a struggle for our guys. 😬

True but they have made improvements in other academic fields. One of my best former students is alum from there in Petro Eng. He researched schools for that major and talked to people in the field, great grades/SAT and they gave him tons in scholarships so it was a no brainer. Not a huge fan of various ranking groups due to not enough of the data being from employers. Some groups dont even have Marietta College (in Ohio) ranked for Petro Eng but ask any employer in the field, thats the #1 school.

I know some folks connected to WVU that put the blame on the problems securely on everyone's favorite ex-president of The ohio state university.
