That game. Ugh, I went, it was painful. But, that being said, I can’t see that happening tomorrow. This team has tasted so much heart break, I think they will be ready.

Yep, that was my first game back in13 years. Ugh is right! Talk about not playing to win, and a team being able to exploit weaknesses in our defense!

November 9, 2024: Rutgers 26 - Minnesota 19.

Hard to believe some PSU fans are worried about the 4th ranked Nittany Lions facing a 2nd tier Minnesota team which recently lost to Rutgers.

Goldy certainly is living rent free in our heads. I have watched a lot of Minnesota football this year and I am not worried but understand that a lot of the worry from our fan base is due to PTSD from 99 & 2019.

I have some issues with Franklin, but one of them isn’t having the team ready to beat an unranked team. If you remove the oddball Covid year, he is 66-3 against unranked teams since 2016.

As long as they play aggressive, I think they play well. They know what’s ahead of them. Turn the dogs loose and let them after it.
This. Aggressive (but smart). Take no prisoners.

Rutgers held them to -14 yards rushing in the second half. But still, I am worried

I was married for less than 4 months at the time of that game. My Minnesota-born wife’s parents were down visiting and we were out doing things with them all day. We ended up somewhere that had the end of the game on and they kept making comments about great this would be for Minnesota if they could win and surprised they were that they were beating Penn State. I was stewing and my wife kept trying to change the subject. I think it was that day she realized the depths of my fandom.

Yep, but I'm pretty much nervous before just about any game. For my mental health, I'm hoping our guys get off to a very fast start and put this one away early.

Same, with this modification.

Now you see why some of us were worried.

I am not a superstitious person. However, there were 2 crazy special team plays that made the game much closer than it should have been from a score perspective.

That blocked punt and blocked extra point attempt resulted in 9 points for Minnesota. What is the probability for these 2 events to occur in the same game? These self-inflicted special team mistakes almost doomed the Nittany Lions.

So, I understand your point.
