East Tennessee got dumped on. Knoxville to the TriCities had major snow fall yesterday and now the roads are nothing but a sheet of ice. So if you're traveling I-26 to Johnson City or I-40 to Knoxville, be careful.

I attended a funeral in Blue Ridge (Greer) yesterday. Left the funeral around 1230 barely got back to Knoxville. Had to park my car and walk the last mile to my neighborhood. We had over a foot. Supposed to be my minus one tomorrow. Fun times.

My folks live in Greer...lol.....most all of the TriCities is down to a crawl....I may be adventurous today and venture out on I-26 towards Johnson City so see how the freeways are doing. I'm working from home today and will watch basketball tonight so I won't get bored (cabin fever)...lol

We rode up that way from Greenville late yesterday afternoon. It started raining around Asheville, turned into a wintry mix around the Burnsville exit on I-26 and within a mile or so there was so much snow on the road we were afraid we wouldn't get to next exit (Wolf Laurel) so we could turn around. Fortunately, we did.

The Wolf Laurel Exit is the last exit in NC before you cross the Tennessee border on I-26. Folks in Upper Flag Pond take the Wolf Laurel Exit as the back side of Wolf Laurel is in Tennessee...It's a good thing you turned around as Western NC got very little snow except the towns close to the Tennessee border...I believe Waynesville may have gotten some snow too...

I-26 was in great shape today as I had to drive to Asheville for lunch!! There is absolutely very little snow on the NC side of the border and once you 3 miles inside the border that hardly any at all.

Just a word of caution though, they are calling for small Thursday and Friday in the Tennessee Mountains so still be careful if traveling this way later in the week and weekend!!!
