Anyone watch the 10:00 presser?

I just caught about the last 10 minutes of when Loggains was talking.

Did Shane have much to say about recent events, transfers, decommits, etc? I wouldn't expect he'd dwell too much on that stuff...just move on and focus on who we have here.

Says he was not caught off-guard by any of the transfers. Seems to confirm my thinking there were other things going on behind the scenes.

Sapakoff tried to lure Loggains into contradicting Beamer, but Loggains handled it deftly. Said Beamer is an honorable and trustworthy guy and that's all he needed to say.

As a coach that has us ranked with great wins to end the season….He basically said all the arm chair quarterbacks can shove it. He will continue to build it the right way (paraphrase).……..Link

I just hope our 2nd team can beat Notre Dame’s 2nd team in the bowl game to keep it rolling.

You're on it 18, Beamer blew off a little aggression. I squirmed a little when Loggains didn't confirm what Beamer said though!

Said he and Marshawn talked the Tuesday after the Clemson game and it could not have been a more positive talk. Then Marshawn went home and things changed.

I'm telling you it's a blessing in disguise. It's pretty clear to most of us that Lloyd is/was a prima donna. If the guy got a hangnail he'd miss 2 games minimum. Fine. Put someone in there who actually wants to run the ball. I just consider him a bust and we move on. It's all we can do.

Definitely in defense mode regarding the Loggains hire. Would really like to know who the HC's were who wanted to be OC at SC?

He seemed a bit surprised by Lloyd. He said he spoke with him recently before he announced his departure and nothing seemed off.

It was Coach Nobody from Doesn't Exist State. It must be great to be able to make all of these claims knowing that you have to "keep these conversations confidential." If there was wellspring to come to Carolina it was only to renegotiate their current contracts.

Also, I keep hearing that it is hard to stay in the NFL for 16 years. Do people who say this actually watch the NFL? Every NFL staff has coaches that are recycled from previous failures. There are guys who are terrible who have been around 25 years. I am less confident after listening to the press conference. Methinks he doth protest too much.

Also, for the record, I really like angry/snarky Shane Beamer.

He definitely failed to live up to expectations here. He would shine in touch football.

Yeah. Went home and probably had some greedy family members in his ear.

Two key things I heard from Loggains:
1. Find out what your play makers skills are and put them in the best position to use them.
2. Know what your QB does best and try to make it better - don't try to make them something they are not by changing who they are.

With all the stuff going on nowadays, tampering is like jaywalking
Until you become the first one that the NCAA wants to make an example of. I have little doubt that incidents are being reported by coaches and the NCAA is taking notes and waiting to catch someone red-handed. They were the organization that lost the NIL arguement....so if it is being abused, I can see them coming down hard.

No matter how many words you post crying out for this to be a bad hire, it ain’t so until it’s so. Try giving it a rest and if he sux, you can say I told you so a year from now.

Yes, I'd let it go now. I was just as disappointed as you in the hire. But it's done. Now hoping for the best.

With respect to Lloyd, does anybody recall the sideline video, which was shot when Satterfield was calling the play that we need to conver third and about four or so to ice the game. As I recall, several of the players were calling for "Juice" Wells as the man for the carry, in fact they were very demanding. Just throwing this observation out there as I think Lloyd might have been discouraged by that overt action by his teamates.

If you're wondering why Sapakoff drew Shane's ire in the presser it was this line from his article on the Loggain's hire: "It's not so much the hire itself, though that appears bad enough in that South Carolina fans wanted a home-run hire and instead got a but pop-up."

Also, Beamer and Loggains went out of their way to not say the offense was too complicated, while letting it be known that it was too complicated. Beamer also said it was inconsistent. He said "You saw us score 63 against Tennessee. You also saw the Florida game."

Some on here maintained that our offense under Satterfield was fine.

I don't know if any of you guys were around when Jim Carlen was the coach here. But Carlen was always combative with the sports media AND the fans. Beamer kind of reminds me of Carlen in that respect. I don't think that's good nor wise on his part. I remember Carlen saying that if he lost, the media and fans would have him for lunch. I wish Shane was more like Joe Mo, Lou and HBC with the media and fans (not getting upset over what fans post on these boards). I believe it would serve him better. I don't believe Frank Beamer was like that. But, I'm not sure.

Well, either way : 1) His skin was too thin to be here, or 2) He's going to get paid and has no morals or character.

Either way, we don't want that type here.

Betcha a Nickle it's the same people that are probably still saying "Frank Martin just needs another year or decade."
(Infuriates me. It really does.)

Re #2: Big believer in most areas of life, you want to maximize your strengths as opposed to improving your weaknesses. Can't be didactic about that, because some weaknesses could be fatal or severely limiting, but take an 80/20 approach of maximizing strengths.

Sounds like he was on fire and dealing.

Just saw some highlights and yes, I agree.

A little thing bothered me. I've made fun of my clemson friends (admit it, you have them) for 2 years because Dabo had to keep having press conferences where he told everyone it wasn't that qb's fault. I would laugh and say if the qb just played well, Dabo wouldn't have to try so hard to convince you.

Reminded me of this. If it was an obviously good hire, you wouldn't have to try so hard to convince people it was.

Oh well, I'm ready for press conferences to be over and to start next year's games already.
