If tickets are still free, I would think that would be a revenue loss as there is such demand for home wrestling tickets in rec hall. I sure would think students would readily pay $10 or so per match. So what is situation with pricing of student tickets?

I doubt students would pay for the tix.

As I've posted before, they are far from a great location. Rec Hall is a rectangle (think basketball court). The wrestling mat is place in the center (well, actually a bit toward the Rec Hall entrance). Fans sit in the elevated seats on both sides of the long rectangle, as well as in the elevated seats on the short sides of the rectangle. Some fans are placed on folding chairs on the floor on both sides of the mat along the short sides of the rectangle. In the large space on the floor between the mat and folding chairs, and the elevated seats, on the short side of the rectangle opposite the Rec Hall entrance, PSU places mats on the floor. The students sit on those mats. They don't have a seat to sit on, and they don't have a great view of the mat. And if they sit on their knees (as many of them do to get a better view), that can get somewhat tiring (or sore for one's knees) over the course of a dual.

In short, while alums and fans are happy to pay for an elevated seat with a nice view of the mat, I don't think you'd find many students willing to pay for wrestling tix at Rec Hall considering where they are placed.

Plus, PSU is pretty proud of not charging students for tickets. I believe that students only pay for football, basketball, and ice hockey tix, where they have seats that are just like what the fans are sitting in.

thanks for clearing up the situation with student tickets Tom. Do they charge students for the tickets in the Bryce Jordan center-I assume they get actual seats?

The folding chairs are only on the east side of Rec Hall. Some times the students are enticed with free pizza. Personally, I miss being enticed by bobble heads.

Thanks Roar. I was at a referee event tonight, and was re-reading my post, and started wondering if I was mistaken about the folding chairs on the visiting team's side.
