Well, if you only knew how much I supported the three sports that matter.......

Fair enough though. If I can get to Monday without being classified as anything worse it will be a successful weekend.

Lot of words for qualifying why you don't just follow the words of Jesus.

I do remember the verses: "Help the sick where feasible", "Help the immigrants that did it right", "only have conversations with people who aren't too biased and don't call out your rationale for not doing my work"

Edit to answer your edited response: You literally just explained in detail why my answer was right. I explained why liberals do the things that the GOP only do with the proper rationale or excuses.
I believe the answer you're looking for here is about CHOICE. Helping people shouldn't be forced on anyone, through taxes and what not. Individuals and churches used to handle all the charitable activity, but slowly the government started doing much of it. Thus, individuals and churches started doing much less. Direct ratio there.

As far as Trump, you can't compare Jesus to any human. He was without sin, the rest of us....not so much. Conservatives or liberals. Both are influenced by morality, but both groups are still people. Greedy people. Most conservatives want to preserve their own stuff, and liberals want more for them at the expense of conservatives. Neither one are any closer to Jesus than the ones they like to demonize.

I dont know that you necessarily made a bad hire. That first year was gonna be rough with the players you lost to graduation and vic leaving.
She did a great job turning chicken **** into chicken salad at odu. Remember you hired her the corvid year with no ncaa. There was a chance threat odu would lose to rice in the conf tourney, they had split games in the reg season. ODU would have gotten an at large bid that year. Cusa has not had a at large in about 10 years.
I was expecting you to hire Rices coach that year. She is at washington now, and took her 6 9 center with her.
If im your ad i promote the interm and keep going.

THIS, THIS, THIS!! Coach Novak can flat-out coach on the floor. We don't know how well he can recruit, but compared to what we had, I would absolutely give him a shot at it!!

Would have loved to see us get the win for girls basketball.

But alas, we are a baseball school so that's why the shot went in.

Look. I don't believe Jesus or religion should be FORCED on anyone...

But that isn't what the original question was. You are discussing two things. If you are a follower of Jesus' teachings, there is no 'CHOICE' of helping people, etc... and there certainly isn't qualifying statements about when/why/how you should help. Someone needs help, you help them. THAT is Jesus' teaching. Don't know how you have heard/seen anything but that if you are paying any attention to the book. (well, I do but that involved justification of actions).

I'm done though. You believe what you want to believe. THat's your god given, american, buddhist, socialist, anti communist right. Just don't ask a question if you don't want an answer.

If Ogunbawale’s shot doesn’t go in at the national championship game? Would Vic still be at MSU?

I think the game was tied. If the shot misses, it's overtime.

The game was LOST when Tiera missed a layup down the stretch, and then Morgan was mugged on the fast break...with no call by the official.

I agree with this. The choice is how you do it. There is separation of church and state, right?

But yes, let's get back to the original question. Would Jesus have been a liberal? He did some pretty radical things, not sure I'd call him liberal. Would he lean left in American politics? That's another question altogether. I do know this - he wouldn't be too happy with the love of self that has completely taken over our society.

I think it's blasphemous to halfway suggest Jesus would find favor with either political party in this day and age. It is for this reason politics (and government) should be kept separate from each other.

I don't need or want preachers telling me how to vote or who to vote for.

I don't need or want politicians telling me how or what to worship.

Coaches and players should absolutely NEVER be in a relationship, whether it’s male-female or female-female. Cohen was right to address that and try to stop it. I don’t see how he can catch ANY blame for that if that’s the reason Vic left.

They shouldn't be, but they were teammates the year before. That is one where you keep you're 17ing mouth shut except to give the message that they need to keep it on the DL enough for other players to not think favorites are being played. She had what, one more year of eligibility? If Cohen flipped out about that then yes, that was stupid. Ride that out while you have a national championship caliber coach. I don't even give a **** about girl's basketball and even I can see the reason to look the other way on that one as long as possible.

I never said it was exclusive... I said tell me where it aligns to the GOP/Trump. You know... if one side definitely doesn't align with these things, the other side has to align more way of thinking...

Edit to correct a missed word

This is just logically false as well as stupid. Aside from the fact that it's crazy to associate Biden/Pelosi with helping the poor, healing the sick, respecting elders, not lying, not stealing, etc., it's entirely possible for both Trump and them to act contrary to Christian teachings and have beliefs contrary to Christian teachings. .

That is not what you are arguing. You are arguing that policy choices are how you help them (and I suspect you are arguing that you somehow discharge your duties by voting to force other people to help them). There's really not much in the bible about that. You can probably make a pretty ironclad argument for having a duty to oppose abortion as well as other unjustified killings of humans, and rape, etc., but on most issues there is at least an argument of the best way to accomplish the goal. Maybe Christian duty requires that you support the criminalization of rape, but I don't think there is any bright line rule that says if you are Christian, you must support it being punishable by a prison term of 5 years instead of 30, or vice versa.

Disagree completely. You can’t be in a physical relationship with a player you’re coaching. Full stop. Especially in SEC college basketball. And how serious was their relationship anyway? Chloe went to Maryland and Blair went to Texas. You can’t coach your 17 buddy. That could lead to a poisonous locker room if it got out. Pokey Chapman was fired from LSU for the same thing, after she took them to multiple Final Fours.

First, how is this thread not locked. Second, I just wanted to dip my toes in the water. I would love to hear your iron clad proof for opposing abortion in bible. Let me go ahead and stop you, something besides protect the weak. I mean a direct reference to abortion.

After reading his teachings I honestly think he would tell you guys you totally missed what he as all about with all this these people are better than this other bunch is. He would also visit Trump and Biden and tell them to quit acting like clowns

Then he would hang with the ordinary people and look for those who need him.

What's wrong with "liberal"? Jesus is a liberal. You don't love Jesus?

Jesus wasn't a liberal. There's not a liberal that ever lived who would say this:

"And to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one." 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

Good post. I don't think Jesus said anything about forcing others at gunpoint to give large chunks of their income to huge bureaucracies to "help" the poor and keep them enslaved to the govt. I'm also pretty darn sure Jesus would not be pounding on the table to promote creating laws supporting all this LBGT crap either. Pretty sure he was anti-govt too. But ... he was a liberal SMFH.

SPS gonna SPS.

How did we go from a thread about the women’s basketball team to an argument about whether Jesus was liberal or conservative? That’s a leap even for Sixpack standards.

Yes he is. He knows good and well that’s not what he meant. It’s a shame the left has tarnished the true meaning of “liberal”.
