Wright needs to hit Thomas there. We got the holding call, but there was no one within 20 or 30 yards of him for a big play.
How can somebody get a scholarship as a quarterback, and not be able to throw a better than that? He couldn't hit a ball in the butt with a bass fiddle. If they throw more than 10 yards it's a crapshoot where it will land.
That was probably the worst thing that could have happened to us. Kind of like a very average 3 pt. shooter coming out and hitting a couple of long 3's to start the game.
The fact that Wright misssed that WTFO receiver on that holding play against Auburn Is, uh, not encouraging. He had plenty of room to throw and it was an easy toss. That should have been an easy completion.

The verdict is in. Mike Wright is bad at QB. Those who thought he should start over Rogers are looking pretty stupid right about now. Rogers has his limitations for sure, but he is WAY better at passing the ball, you know, a pretty key component of playing QB.
When I went to see us play Vandy in Nashville two years ago, I told my wife that Mike Wright was the worst SEC quarterback I had ever seen in person. I have not changed my opinion much.
Only Mississippi State fans would think that a guy who was benched at Vanderbilt of all places would be the savior at quarterback.

Did Will Rogers 17 your wife? You seem to have an irrational dislike of the guy. He’s miles better than Wright and the last two games have proved it. Wright cannot throw the ball, which is a pretty important part of being a quarterback.
What happen on that slip screen? I don’t think Thomas or Robinson really know who was going out on the route.

I haven’t seen a State team so poorly coached in every aspect of the game since Croom. This is beyond alarming
