You don't win in the long term by alienating the customer. Short term maybe the universities are happy. When stadiums are half empty and tv revenues shrink we'll see who's happy.
Let me know when that happens. As far as a general product, I could make the case that people will continue to watch on TV, while in-person attendance might decline a little more. Plus, I could also convince myself that the coaches are overpaid and deserve to have to recruit year-round.

I think we at MSU are convinced the system is shlt, because it doesn't benefit us. But many of the big boys have never been happier.
