Is the age old tradition of the Athon's of the world. They have to sell magazines and advertising numbers so they of course rank UGA and UF about 10 spots higher than they deserve and thus, boot poor ole Miss'ippi State on down outside the Top 25 to 27 when most preseason polls I have seen have us around the 20 mark. I think they have UGA 14th if memory serves me correctly. What about UGA makes one think they will finish 14th? Am I missing something other than a pretty decent FR QB returning? Last I saw of UGA they were getting beat by a lot of teams and Richt is on the hotseat. And while I'm at it....the media's manlove for all things Muschamp is gonna get old quick I think. I hope he get's his *** handed to him A LOT. Will he? I have no idea..but I hope he does. I just am tired of everyone assuming he's the next great thing.

I am however, enjoying the lowering of expectations at Auburn. I really don't know what to expect on the Plains other than someone getting a paycheck for enrolling.

is the new age Sleepy Robinson. Sleepy's senior season was lost, and I hope Relf makes up for it and has the best season a MSU QB has ever had.

I may have missed this, but what is your prediction for MSU record wise?

I'm assuming you have us losing to Bama, LSU, and Arkansas?

playing Georgia in Athens really worries me. I think UPig outscores us, and I feel we could beat LSU or Bama, but I wont "predict it"....

I'll start in July breaking down the SEC like we did last year to give us something to debate, and the Bear fans another chance to whine about me ranking us higher than them aGAIN.

I think we both can maybe agree that Bama and LSU are toss ups at this point- with maybe a slight edge going to LSU and Bama because they do have the edge in talent, but we have home field.

And I agree about Arkansas- they're almost invincible at Little Rock for whatever reason.

Personally, the road game I'm worried about is Auburn. I know that they've lost a ton- but really what worries me is just the fact that it's on the road more than anything. Although we played them as close as anyone last year and our QB situation wasn't quite settled at that point. This year, it's going to be Relf without question and he is a lot better now than he was at the time we played Auburn last year.

He ended on a decent year.... but more importantly, THERE IS NO ONE TO RANK IN FRONT OF HIM! (in the preseason).... except players who have never played before (sans the SC guy, who sucks anyway)

I may be completely wrong here so feel free to correct me.

are interesting. Both teams seem so solid but still have huge question marks. I know defense can win championships, and certainly might with either of those teams, but neither one of them can explain exactly how they are going to get the ball in the endzone at this point. As for Auburn I was convinced it couldn't be as bad as people were saying until I saw they only had 6 returning starters. 3 Offense, 3 Defense, no specialists. Damn, that's pretty harsh. They blew their load on the money shot.

I have to admit though, it's fun going into the pre-season with Ole Miss being a non-issue. You never know what will happen during the season but at least the Bears can't start thumping their chests until some games are in the book.

I know they have a head case at QB, but the next guy in line might be better anyway. And they still have Jeffrey and Lattimore. I see that as being a tough game as well.

but they have some OL guys to replace and we will be at home. Hell, I think we were better than them last season

are they talented? Sure. But you just cant replace that many people and be at the top of your game 2nd game of the season- plus, we get a couple of extra days to get ready for them.

I think we beat Aubarn by 10+

pretty crazy...not saying he couldn't warrant that kind of praise, but still crazy for a DE to be in that mix as a true freshman.<div>

He's a booksmart guy.....doesn't take into consideration a lot of common sense. Still probably the best out there in gathering information and making an intelligent conclusion.

he's still suspended, but he'll be back on the team. Brantley will be much better in a pro-set w/ the fatman coaching him.

If we can go in and get a big road win, we'll be off to a good year with a great chance to upset LSU on Thursday night simply due to the atmosphere we'll create. If we slip up and lose, it sets us in a precarious situation where we'll feel like we're fighting an uphill battle for the next month and a half with that schedule.

I think we'll step up to the challenge, but if that's a tight game in the last minutes I'll be a nervous wreck haha.

That's winning the six we should (4 ooc, om, and ky) plus one of au, sc, and ga. Winning 2 of those games will be really tough.

A bowl game is always my goal for MSU football. Of course, I want to beat teams for the rivalry aspect, but all I realistically expect is to be a winner and be competitive week in week out.
