Any suggestions on how to get the most out of the meet this Friday? Arriving from Ohio around 2:00 and checking into hotel. I’ve been to Penn State/State College many times, so my main concern is all surrounding the meet.
Time to arrive at BJC?
Anything you can share would be appreciated.
TIA

Doors open 1:30 before the match. Weather permitting, you could tailgate. Good restaurants in SC are packed, regardless of sports. Enjoy!

Match starts at 8:30PM and doors open at 7:00PM.

It used to be simple as a good wrestling crowd always met up at Whiskers in the Nittany Lion Inn ,which is now closed, so folks are more spread out. If you want to talk wrestling I'd choose either Doggies (old Rathskeller) or Local Whiskey/Central Reservation. Doggies has pizza for sale while the other two (they are connected and you can walk between the two inside) have nice pub style menu's. Try and get a seat at the bar. If these two/three are jammed than try Social at the corner of Pugh and Beaver. After will be crowded most places so if just looking for a couple of beers try Zeno's. The long line blocking the steps to Zeno's is for Bill Pickles so just cut across and head downstairs.

Start heading up to the BJC around 7:30 or so. Both the Blue and White loop buses have a stop right at the BJC. Blue heads up College Ave and White heads down Beaver Ave. They are free to ride. After the match getting on one of these could be an issue until the crowd thins a bit so just be patient.

Oh, if any Iowa fans ask for a suggestion on a pub send them to Chumley's.

OL, I stole this from another board. A group will be going to:

Doggies at around 4:00PM, The Tavern for dinner around 6:00PM, Adam's Apple around 7:00PM for post dinner/pre match last drinks, and Local Whiskey after the match. Find the guys who loud and wearing PSU wrestling gear and introduce yourself.

The Tavern is booked for reservations so some of us will be going to Local Whiskey about 6 for a bite before the meet, and after meeting at Doggies.

For those planning on dining prematch. Staffing is less than ideal at many establishments in State College. Grab yourself and extra 15 minutes just in case. thanks Tgar later.

Thanks to all for their suggestions and help. Seats were 4 rows above the “tunnel” where wrestlers came out. Great time. Only downer was amount of time it took to get out of parking lot.
Just pulled the trigger on 2 tickets in row 2 from the mat on the aisle next to the team for this Friday’s dual with ohowihate. Pricey, but my wife gave me the blessing! And, on 2.5 hour drive versus 5 to the Happiest of Valleys!

I told you to walk or take the loop buses to the BJC. I really shouldn't give this away, but if you must drive go east of College Ave and turn left on Porter Rd. You'll thank me later.

I thank you for the parking suggestion, however, I had already bought a pass online. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Info on the Blue Loop and White Loop can be found here:

https://catabus.com/catabus/bus-schedules/

You can also download an app or find real time bus data here:

https://catabus.com/catabus/real-time-apps-and-mobile-options/

Keep in mind that the Loops are not magic monorails and are subject to traffic like any other vehicle.

Lastly, the Loops and Links are paid for by Penn State, so if you use them, be sure to thank a student for paying their high tuition and fees to provide your free ride.
A free ride at Penn State? 😂
