Auburn NIL ad

During one of the timeouts Saturday, Auburn had a video featuring their NIL Collective. It featured coaches Harsin, Bruce Pearl and (I think) their woman’s hoops coach. The message was “donate to the collective so we can stay competitive in the SEC.” I thought NIL Collectives could not be sponsored by the university. If I’m wrong on this then where is the PSU Collective ad?

Also, props to Auburn for literally having a cell phone repeater at the top of every section in the upper decks. I had no problem with cell service during the game. I like to follow real-time stats. Same for the Atlanta Braves. The wifi at Truist Park on Friday night was perfect. We need this at the Beav. Get on it Kraft.

Schools cannot operate or fund NIL collectives. Nothing bars a school form promoting a collective that is (ahem) otherwise independent (ahem) from the school.

The ability of the school to interact with the collective and promote them is somewhat driven by state law and how each university interprets the law. Penn State is now relaxing their view of the PA state law and the university is stating that SWH is the preferred collective of Penn State.

Yeah....the cell phone experience in Jordan Hare was night and day better than the Beav.

Could actually follow scores from other games.

One knock on Auburn- they only posted SEC scores on the scoreboard.

Auburn also showed the final play of the App State - Troy game on their big board. I thought that was great. Crowd loved it.

I'd like to know how much these organizations have collected and disbursed to athletes. How much they've pocketed for themselves is probably too much to ask.
SWH which is a not for profit collective, unlike the one just started by Jason Ganter, has a factor of 15% for expenses and profit for the vendor engaged to handle the technology, legal, contracts, subscriptions, etc. All other funds to the athletes.

These organizations laugh at student-athletes.

Reminds me of charities with tremendous overhead and CEOs who make exorbitant salaries.

Donate to the one started by Chris Ganter instead.

I'm quite sure, being a for profit entity, they are taking a much better cut prior to the athletes getting anything. One of the other collectives that I am aware of if taking a 50% cut first.

My post was to point out the football only one was started by CHRIS Ganter not Jason Ganter. Unless Jason started it and Chris is managing it.

You could look at it this way. They are taking a cut but more money might still going to the football team because SWH is all the student athletes at Penn State. If I am going to give money to a PSU NIL venture, I want to know that it is going to the Penn State football team. If I donate to SWH, it could be going to the basketball team or the wrestling team or another sport. I was born and raised a Penn State football fan. I have been going to Penn State home games since I was 5 years old. I only applied to Penn State because of the football team. It is nice when the other sports do well but my passion is Penn State football. The Lion Legacy Club also lists the football players that have signed up for it and what things they are willing to provide. For example, Curtis Jacobs lists Digital Engagement, Personal Training and Appearances. He also lists that he is a telecommunications major so a radio or a local TV ad seems like a natural fit. Success With Honor does not list the student athletes so it appears that the Lion Legacy Club will give you easier access to contact the athletes. You can actually support both collectives without donating to both. You can go to SWH store and buy a hoodie and 100% of proceeds goes to funding NIL opportunities for Penn State student athletes.
