We were talking about this at work. Someone said LSU already does this.

If you are a non-student, if you somehow get a student ticket, go to the ticket office and pay the difference for whatever we charge for an "entry" into the student section. That way, if a student does not want to go a game, he can either sell or give away their ticket to a non-student and that person can pay the difference to sit in the student section.

It would create additional revenue. The only downside I can think of is it could let in more visiting fans. But, that risk is present with the rest of the ticket population and visiting fans sitting in the student section are easily kept in check.

Good idea.

I would think anyone wanting to do that would not be someone who would buy season tickets or a full priced tic in the first place.

The more fans and money the merrier.

They call it a student guest ticket. Not sure of the cost.

From rolltide.com
If you want to purchase a student guest ticket, you and the student who is selling/giving the ticket must go to the Ticket Office during the week of the game. Access to the game will be removed from that student's Action Card and you will receive a paper ticket for your student guest.

Alabama has done this for a while. You pay to upgrade the ticket to face value of general tickets. When myself and all of my friends were in school (most of them went to Alabama), I could always find someone not going to the game and upgrade the ticket. It was always a good way for me to get into the game without paying $100+, since its impossible to get a reasonable price on a regular ticket. Ive often wondered why all schools didnt do this. Especially if you figure to pack your stadium out each week.

we had student guest tickets as well but I want to say they just sold the extra student season tickets as student guest tickets. Now that we sold out of student tickets, my initial post creates some $$$.
