If Saban were still at Bama, 1) they wouldn’t have been passed over and/or 2) he would say something about this Chinese fire drill of a playoff selection that would get it changed.

I am glad this at least maybe signals that Bama won't be getting the Saban discount any longer.

I think the committee probably only excluded Alabama because they had no choice based on their previously arbitrary criteria. They made it clear that final record is most important, no matter who the wins came against. SMU only had 2 losses to Bama's 3. Yes, if Saban were there, I have no doubt they would have finagled the criteria however they needed to get Bama in.

I did enjoy his input on this terrible process of picking 12 teams.
