That comment was on me … he clearly liked and took them and had success with them. As I was saying that, I was thinking more of the NIL approach to it. Bad mis-speak on my part and not well thought out. That definitely warrants correction.

Your pod is great and I listen to every one, and will continue to. The best one we have. Leach, and the way many viewed him, is just a sore spot for me.

So the transfer without penalty rule started in 2021. You could transfer once. The first transfer portal with the new rules was December of 21.

April of 2024 was the start of transferring without penalty as many times as you like. I would call that a significant change.


The way the transfer portal worked and was utilized then is a bit different. Not drastically different.

NIl , being able to pay players is the same and That’s what is key. Talent evaluation and allocating limited resources. We really haven’t gotten anything out of it from the last two classes. leach hit on a very high rate of nil/portal players from Makai Polk , Green at safety, Charlton on the D line, Banks, Jackie Matthews, Lasoya on the O line, Mosley, JRob, all those guy were good players who contributed. There has been a big drop off since then.
