I dont keep up with college baseball nearly as much the last two years, thats for sure. Especially Louis Coleman of LSU, if thats whom you are referring. He wasnt a former player, so I could give a **** when he pitched

Well he's still at his office from 9am-6pm taking and making phone calls acting as the head coach always has.

Did you coach Bradford?

If these players were cut then why were all of them sent somewhere by MSU to play Summer Ball......Gene had a story about the different players and which leageues they were playing in this summer

Seems to me if a player was cut, MSU would not place them in a summer league

make up you mind

then he didnt resign effective the "end the season"...I didnt read his resignation, so I didnt know when it was effective. His last day will be June 30th or whenever Byrne tells him he is done.
No, I coached Forrest and Jackson. Forrest got the win in game 2-2007. Forrest flunked out, had a great year in juco, and has now signed with the Pigs next season.

truth is a current player we have all pretty much decided, and he even came out and said as much with with saying "we" when talking about the summer team assignments.
Truth is a sheep....BAAAAHHHH BAAAAHHHH BAAAAHHH
Go Raffo, Polk is the creator of MSU Baseball..

As well as he should be, He is a player on the team and should sell out and believe in the concept Polk teaches the program. That is what I would want from a sporting team, the coach is supposed to be the leader.

But none the less, Polk is an old man who believes he is bigger than the university and the program. Therefore he wants to control the program and his legacy.
So players, welcome to the sixpack and enjoy your education of how the program really is.

Raffo is not the answer. Raffo will not be your next head coach.
If Cohen is the next coach, I dont care that everyone on the team and administration of MSU baseball does not care for him. Leave, if you are scared and dont want to be yelled at and forced to work your *** off and be the best player you can be by being pushed to the max. I say Cohen, because this is the one i know that every player has called out saying they will revolt against. But whoever the next coach is, the same applies. Much like when any major change happens in a program, there will be major number of player transfers. Just as when Paul Maineri came into LSU and cleaned up the mess of Smoke, I believe major changes will happen when a change in philosophy occurs with a change in coaching staffs..and a major change in philosophy is needed.

Needless to say, there are some talented players who I hope buy into whatever change happens and will embrace change for the best.

"We have ours"

You might think you as a team has your candidate in Raffo.
But remember careful this. You are a student-athlete on the Baseball team of MSU.
When you signed your Letter of Intent committing yourself to coming to MSU to play on the baseball squad you did not sign to select your coach. you did not sign or commit to playing for only Ron Polk.
You committed yourself to coming to Mississippi State University and playing baseball at one of the best programs in the nation. If you do not want to be on the team after the changes are made, then you will be granted your release to transfer (and you can join Polks cause in cursing the NCAA as you sit the bench for a year).

Its kinda like bunting, stealing, and hitting and running...its a novel concept that really isn't that hard to do.

No one has a clue who you are talking about, but if you say you ate 27 somethings, maybe you are another player..who became a lardass and felt "entitled" this season so much he got lazy and fat and can't do a backflip anymore.

Who is sweet roll?

You should really be more like other players who have come on here in the past, and defended themselves. Hell we all ragged on Joseph29 "Midweek" Mccaskill but in the end he at least would post as himself and converse with people in a civil manner.

The 27 was referring to "Sweet Roll" (mentioned in the above post...) the fan who sits behind home plate and brings his MSU canes to every game. Most MSU baseball fans know him as Sweet Roll because someone bet him that he couldn't eat 30 sweet rolls. He ate 27 and his story has been in publications around the Starkville area.

I've never done any back flips, but I know a good deal about the program. You may be right about Raffo not being the best man for the job, but who cares if a player thinks his coach is a worthy candidate?

you didn't play baseball, so you can't possibly know anything about it cop out. The Legend has taught you well.

I tell you what's scary- is obviously Polk is a lot more Jim Jones than Joe Torre.

Well, I need to go to bed so I can go to my job that is sucking the life out of me. I can't wait to go to Trustmark Park to yell at some minor league baseball players after I beat my girlfriend and kick my dog.

Thanks for clarifying that, I have met "Sweet Roll" before and seen the canes he make.Impressive stuff. I dont know his whole story, But I had heard he drove and slept in his car last year for the CWS. Thats pretty diehard love for a team.

But alas, I'm not sweet roll..and far from an Ole Miss fan..

the worst thread ever. these "players" are the suck.
if they are worse at playing or posting
They set the bar so low on the playing field it would be hard not to be better at Internet posting. They're pushing it pretty hard, but the results on the field speak for themselves.
