....but UF is battling to get him. As a position coach.

DC at MSU or position coach at UF? I hope UF wins, sad as that may be.

he may head down there. At this point, being under Dan Mullen isn't all that big of a resume boost but being under Urban Meyer sure is. Plus, if Urban is going to leave potentially soon that could mean a DC job there in the very near future. I guess it depends on if he feels he was in over his head at UGA or not.

this isn't about boosting a resume. He had that chance at Georgia.

This is about salvaging his reputation to coach a defense, which he won't get as a position coach.

That said, Go Gator.

I'm having this vision of Newton going to Auburn, us getting Martinez, and rolling to a historic 6-6 next year.

Really, has anything good happened this week in terms of MSU? ****, the Saints even lost. If it is true that Brick asked for the job and we offered Martinez, I am really confused.

people have to remember three things:

1. He is from Florida. Going to UF means going home for him.

2. His repuation has been damaged, and it may be good for him to "lay low" for a little while.

3. Florida may use a co-coordinator role. He may be able to share the duties with someone else.

You could argue that if UF wants him then it proves other people think he's a good coach at some aspect of the game so mayb he's not the worst hire we could make. Still he doesn't fire me up. I think Brick deserves to at least interview and my vote is still for Diaz.
