We're allegedly behind them in NIL as well. Where are all the highly rated guys there bringing in over us?
Perhaps someone who has the inclination and or motivation could provide us with a listing of all the recruits and or transfers, for each of those individual schools (that you have mentioned), compared to our lists, and eliminate this debate.

We're 18th in the combined rankings. Mizzou is 22nd, UK is 25th, and Ark is 27th. We're ahead of all those in the transfer only rankings too. We are one of 10 schools in the country that has at least 2 5* players. OM has 1 5* btw.

It would be beneficial to actually see those rankings from it's source (or even multiple rankings), but since these rankings are in a constant flux, it would make it difficult to actually describe them as undisputed proof to support the NIL question on either side.

Not that hard to find. Of course it's not undisputed. All I said was that it's hard to believe our NIL situation is so dire when we're either beating, or recruiting around the same level as those that are said to be much higher than us in NIL.

Missouri and Ole Miss finished the season 11-2, Carolina finished the season 5-7. Which teams do you think the higher rated transfers would pick? It isn't all about NIL.

Don't start with the "...come here and be a part of building something special" drivel. Talented players want to play for winning teams.

That can work for a highly rated player here and there. You're not gonna build a top 10 class off of players who want to come help build something.

I liked Gilber Edmond and I hope this works out. But if Beamer knows there are guys in the locker room that will be upset about this, he shouldn’t have let this happen. We’ll never know how it would’ve worked out the other way, but I’d rather have a team of guys rally around each other than knowing some are upset a guy ditched them.

There are a couple of positives though. 1) the obvious that Edmond will likely contribute. 2) maybe this will help us keep a few players from going to Florida State. Likely won’t, but even if it influences 1 guy that’s a good thing. No idea if Edmond regrets is decision or not, but I’d make sure he’s in there talking about how he should’ve never left to begin with and how good it is at USC.

We’re ranked higher than Mizzou in recruiting and just signed 2 5*s in the same class for the first time in our history, after a 5-7 season.

Although we are ranked higher than Mizzou, that is not the whole story. Mizzou has 21 commits, we have only 16.
Let's wait and see when the majority of schools have their full complement of signees before we start "blowing our own horn"

We won't know that until after spring when the portal opens back up. Including transfers, we're up to 36 commits...Mizzou has 31. My post was not a "blowing our own horn" post. I just thought his post was interesting. Mizzou had a great year, we didn't. So naturally NO talented players would want to come here, they would go to Mizzou. The mental gymnastics some people go through to put our program down and prop others up is kind of wild to me.

I can't really say I can agree with this statement.
My takeaway from some of the comments, is a sense of deep frustration directed at the BOT and Administration for a lack of winning consistency, and consistency is the operative word here. In addition, a perceived lack of urgency in becoming more proactive in a fast moving landscape, and a fear of being left behind or perhaps one could say becoming a permanent member of the "middle of the pack" club.
The so called propping of other programs sounds to me more of a "why can't we do or be more like that".

I don't believe most of our fellow posters are as jaundiced as you seem to think.

I don't put you in that category, as I've seen you post positive things about the team. There are some that refuse to do it, for whatever reason. I have my suspicions. Because we're not performing to level we never have in our history, NOTHING good is happening. Comments like "no talent wants to come here because we went 5-7" are asinine. We've never signed a consensus 5* player outside the state. We've done that in back to back classes now. That's what I'm talking about. What does School of Business 101 say about ignoring the good things you're doing?

I agree with you 1,000% on the deficiencies of the BOT/Admin. In a lot of ways, it's run like the NFL. As long as the gravy train is rolling, they don't really care.
