Marc Ryan is a douche. I’m not sure Beamer should’ve wasted his time responding. But the part about this that gets me is Ryan uses this to say that Beamer hasn’t elevated the program enough to get Riley but Dabo has. I mean, no ****. Beamer is in Year 2.
Honestly, I’d say Riley wasn’t on our list due to $. Which is part of the issue here. But what Marc Ryan is doing is just trolling and it’s working. He’s a major goober.

I'm assuming the douche is in the upstate because I have never heard of him down here in the Charleston area.
Marc Ryan is worried about getting a response, not saying something logical or correct.

I don't see the big deal. Someone said something stupid and Beamer called them out on it.

I like this because it just adds a little more pressure on Loggains. Only Beamer knows what's what. I did not like Loggains getting a 3-year deal. But, maybe that contract length is standard now for coordinators. I know little and claim less. Back in the day when I was working, I had people reporting directly to me. I always found that people could get too comfortable and lazy. That is human nature. You don't want people to be afraid. But you also don't want people to be fat and lazy either. There is a "sweet spot" when it comes to managing people. You have to hit it.
Like other times he has called out the press, he's questioning their sources.
By saying, "where did you get your information"? It did not come from me, and I am the ultimate source, certainly frames the narrative properly.
I wish Beamer hadn’t responded myself. Not saying he is, but these type responses come off as defensive.
That said, Marc Ryan is on the radio in my neck of the woods. He is a Florida graduate who trashes Carolina every chance he gets. I used to listen to ESPN Upstate (now a CBS station) every afternoon. He brags constantly about being #1 in SC in his time slot, but I find him very difficult to listen to. So much so, that the only time I listen to it is when WORD is in a commercial break. Not because he trashes SC, but because the show is often about useless drivel. There is a 50% chance that he will not even be talking sports. And when he is, it often comes across as his opinion, based on his opinion and no facts.
The guy that is one before Jim Rome’s show isn’t bad.

Beamer is hyper-aggressive defending this OC hire. Looks like he learned a lesson with letting nutty fans and pseudo-media douchebags control the narrative last year.
I think you're confusing energy, enthusiasm and pride with hyperactivity. The team and the program needs Shane's leadership to express the same qualities as a unit!
We learned much about MSM over the past few years. One of those things is that these reporters release articles based on sources. More often than not those sources are themselves. I chalk whatever these guys write up as baloney until proven otherwise.
