Roadhouse- Why would Brad Wesley oppose the cleanup of the Double Deuce?

While the club is owned by Mr. Tilghman, the liquor he sells is supplied to him by Brad Wesley. Brad is a smart businessman, runs the highly profitable Jasper Improvement Society. J.C. Penny is even coming to town because of him- you can ask anybody, and they'll tell you.

If they clean up the Double Deuce, liquor sales will skyrocket- after all, nobody wants to come to a slaughterhouse. The extra income would more than pay for his useless nephew, so Brad's actions make no sense.

Dalton is charged with cleaning up The Double Douche, and Wesley sees him as a threat to his control of the town. So Dalton has to go down. Dalton going down means The Double Douche going down for the insane Wesley.

Toy Story. In order to scare Sid into treating toys better, Woody and others come to life in front of him. But if it’s possible to come to life in front of humans, and Buzz doesn’t know he’s a toy, why does Buzz ever stop being “alive” when Andy comes in the room?

Quentin Tarantino asked this of Chris Nolan’s ‘Memento’….

If Leonard is unable to make new memories after his accident, how can he tell everyone he meets about his inability to make new memories?

Rocky

What book is Duke looking into to find fighters for Apollo to fight? Why would a small time fighter like Rocky be in the book? How often to they publish this book? Does this book include fighters nationwide? Is it published locally, regionally?

Also, not so much a plot hole, but in Rocky IV, when they get to Russia and Paulie is upset about the accommodations, why is he worried about missing the Rose Bowl? The fight is on December 25th. Were they planning on sticking around for another week afterward? And why is it nighttime in Philadelphia where Rocky's son is watching the fight? Did the fight in Russia occur at like 4am Russia time or something?

Plot hole or not, the training scenes in Russia are the best of the series. Not sure why, I just love that sequence.

Someone please explain to me why Joe Frazier was even in the original? Just plunked him in for the name factor? Never fit the storyline.

Back to the Future....

Since the clock tower didn't have a second hand lightning could have struck any time between 10:04:00 and 10:04:59.

There's no way they could have timed the lightning strike.

And Johnny B. Goode is in they key of B flat...not B goddamnit :)
I guess if we can accept that they achieved time travel, we have to accept that they lucked out with a 1 in 60 chance on the timing :)

Good call on Johnny B. Goode. Not that I knew it was in the key of B flat — but now that I know, that will bug me lol

For Lord of the Rings, please no one try to assert that the eagles could have just flown Frodo and Sam straight to Mount Doom.

That one’s been Tolksplained away on the internets already.
Massive armies, endless number of battles, moving people over large, sparse distances, and never a sign of food and water to support them.

The biggest plot hole in Back to the Future is that a DeLorean could go 88.8 mph.

The ending of Caddyshack (and I request God's mercy for saying anything bad about it)...

Ty and Al (with Danny playing for him) already lost their $40k. With Danny lining up the final putt, Al says "double or nothing that he makes it". Double or nothing would have meant that worst case, Ty/Al are out 80k, and best case, they break even. However, after Danny makes it, Al is looking for $80k and sends Moose and Rocco to "help the judge find his checkbook". It all makes no sense (irrespective of the fact that Lou might have been the worst rules official ever for allowing that putt to count).

I cut them some slack in that movie, because the producers (one being Ramis?) and actors, we're so F'd up on drugs (cocaine and pot) and alcohol during the whole filming. Bill Murray and Rodney Dangerfield were let loose to ad lib the whole time.

Yes, and the second biggest is that George and Lorraine never noticed that their son looks exactly like the guy who got them together when they were in high school.
From IMDB:

In April 2020, Back to the Future screenwriter Bob Gale finally decided to explain the plot-hole question about why Marty's parents didn't remember him as the kid in high school who got them together. He told The Hollywood Reporter, "Bear in mind that George and Lorraine only knew Marty/Calvin for eight days when they were 17, and they did not even see him every one of those eight days. So, many years later, they still might remember that interesting kid who got them together on their first date." He continued, "But I would ask anyone to think back on their own high school days and ask themselves how well they remember a kid who might have been at their school for even a semester. Or someone you went out with just one time. If you had no photo reference, after 25 years, you'd probably have just a hazy recollection. So Lorraine and George might think it funny that they once actually met someone named Calvin Klein, and even if they thought their son at age 16 or 17 had some resemblance to him, it wouldn't be a big deal. I'd bet most of us could look thru our high school yearbooks and find photos of our teen-aged classmates that bear some resemblance to our children."

Stripes. The whole Russian plot is just stupid and ruins the second half of the movie. Is that a plot whole? I don’t know but it’s 1/2 a great movie.
I would say full metal jacket as well thenas well as basic was the best part of the movie. The bathroom scene could have been the end.

In the Star Wars movies, I like that everyone can go about their business without issue on the Death Star and the like with a large bay door open to outer space.

Force fields man.

The whole last trilogy was a giant plot hole.

Fair point… but were you also disappointed there was no depiction of the Riders of Rohan dismounting their horses for a quick stop at the latrine? Perhaps Merry or Pippin copping a squat behind Treebeard in Fangorn Forest? ;)

To me, the mundane details are just to be assumed and not integral to be shown… not plot holes really IMO.

Without food or water there is no need to see a man about a horse or pop a squat. Problem solved.

The Godfather. They decide to use Michael to kill Sollozzo & McCloskey even though they know that he will become a marked man and have to be sent out of the country to avoid prosecution and being killed in return. This plan all hinges on finding out where Sollozzo & McCloskey are taking Michael for the meeting so they can hide the gun.

Once they know the location of the restaurant, there is no longer the need to have Michael pull the trigger. If they can get a guy to hide the gun in the restaurant, they gan get a guy, or several guys to show up there and kill Sollozzo & McCloskey.
