Forgot to say Central is closed from the hurricane damage.Make it easy on yourself. Walk to Central Gricery and don’t look back. Eat on the riverbank with a 6 pack of Dixie.
Sidney's next door was selling Central Muffalettas when I was down there last year. They sold X number each day.Forgot to say Central is closed from the hurricane damage.
Must be meant to be. We’re headed to Cochon for lunch
Domelise’s. You have to drive and the lines can be long but a great place to eat. It’s in the garden district off St Charles.Staying on Poydras st. So not to far out of this area please.
Whelp, then you're **** out of luck for muffalettas in New orleansForgot to say Central is closed from the hurricane damage.
That’d be a great idea if only you could get a Dixie beer.Make it easy on yourself. Walk to Central Gricery and don’t look back. Eat on the riverbank with a 6 pack of Dixie.
You made the right choice. Even if you didn’t get a muffaletta.Must be meant to be. We’re headed to Cochon for lunch
Liquor store next door is selling them for CG until they re-open. Have not had one last two visits to NOLA so may not be the same as actually going into CG and having that experience.Forgot to say Central is closed from the hurricane damage.
They’re all the same. Get one at a truck stop in Slidell to scratch the itch then get real food in the city
Had a many a olive spread sandwichesObviously you've never had a good Muffuletta.
Was, is now, and forever will be Central Grocery.....hands down and elbows off the table. Take a Barq's and sit in Jackson Square if it's open on a bench.Staying on Poydras st. So not to far out of this area please.
That's the kicker. The bread is the key to a great muffelata and it's a real search.Nice,
Grab a jar of their Olive Salad and you can make your own Muffuletta at home. Sourcing the real deal bread can be a challenge.
Could be worse... you could be trying to find one in the middle of Texas.Whelp, then you're **** out of luck for muffalettas in New orleans
Same thing can be said of Po-boy bread. Impossible to find in Cali. Don't know if it's the difference in climate, etc., but making it out here doesn't seem to work. That's the kicker. The bread is the key to a great muffelata and it's a real search.

Ok guys. I should have let y’all know. I’m no new comer to the city. Nor am I a novice Muffuletta consumer. Having said that here we go.
Went to Cochon for lunch. We’ve been to the restaurant and the butcher a few times. Never had the muffuletta. It’s good. I wouldn’t say it was the best I’ve ever had but it was a good solid muff. The bread was a 10. The meats were good but not outstanding. I could have used more olives in the olive salad too. Still good but not as good as some of the other listed here. If I have time I’m getting another one on the way out tomorrow and I’ll update everyone.
Side note. El Gato Negro was good for dinner too! Table side Ceviche was the bomb
Well "Dixie" is no longer in existence. That would be faubourg nowMake it easy on yourself. Walk to Central Gricery and don’t look back. Eat on the riverbank with a 6 pack of Dixie.
Not a fan of the sandwich but napoleon house has a good one according to my friends who like them.Staying on Poydras st. So not to far out of this area please.
