Makes me happy that we are winning with defense. I've always been a defensive guy, both basketball and football. One reason I stopped following the NBA long ago was the emphasis on penalizing good defense to generate higher-scoring games. I'd take a 6-3 defensive slugfest any day in football over a 63-56 shootout.

One of the reasons I gave for being enthusiastic about the Paris hire (in addition to the fact that his teams at UTC improved from one year to the next, record-wise each of his 5 years there), was that he was an assistant to and mentored by Bo Ryan at Wisconsin. A couple of posters on another site remarked at how much we looked like a Bo Ryan-coached team last night. Fans, who are not familiar with Bo Ryan need to google him and see what Ryan accomplished during his coaching career.
If you want a 7’2” guy to shoot 3s, he’s your guy. I knew going in Gray would muscle him down low. So did Lamont. Every time Z came in, so did Gray.
