They apparently go by stats, not sheer talent. Dotson is 17th in receiving yards and Olave is 40th. There are two other OSU receivers with more yards than Olave. The finalists rank 4th, 8th and 6th respectively.
Agreed, it's just stats. Dotson is better than all of them.

Williams has 3 TD's in each of the last 2 games. Dotson did not have a TD in each of the 4 PSU losses

Williams did nothing also against 2 ranked opponents.
Dotson is really good but his total yards and TD’s are not as good as the three finalist
and yet he was rewarded with a 7 year extension thru 2031

No doubt he recruits very well . 4 and 5 losses last 2 years . Records against top teams means recruiting is not translating to winning rate expected at PSU.
Thankfully my boss hasn't graded my performance on the **** show that has been the past two years, and I haven't worked remotely through any of it. Recently, I waited 7 months for a rebuild that was promised completed 6-8 weeks that critically hampered my operation.
I'm not sure what kind of a rock you've been hiding under but if you want to fire a guy after the past two seasons for a poor record you need to become a LSU fan.

"Bucknuts reported that Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh accused Ohio State head coach Ryan Day of allowing on-field instruction before it was permitted by the NCAA. The accusation was made on a coaches conference call earlier this week. The report says that Day didn't take too kindly to being called out. He supposedly said, "How about I worry about my team and you worry about yours?"
When Day was asked about it on a Zoom call with the media on Thursday, he chose not to comment about it. But according to that Bucknuts report, he told the team afterward something to the effect of "they should hope for a mercy rule because we're gonna hang 100 on them."

Our kids basically missed an entire year of training because of PSU/B1G COVID protocols. They were at home lifting detergent bottles. Other schools clearly didn't listen and held illegal practices and training sessions. In different conferences, the COVID rules were far less stringent than the B1G. It likely caused some transfers that wouldn't have happened otherwise. Understand?

I think the stats for total yards, TDs and receptions are all a bit misleading. Is the player on a team whose offense is pass oriented (consider the old BYU offense where a run was an afterthought vs Navy's triple option), does the player have a good QB to get the ball to him, is he used for long passes or is he used mainly for shorter routes, ... just too many factors involved to just look at the stats and make a decision.
Admittedly I haven't watched a whole lot of football this year, but the receivers I've been impressed with have been Dotson (PSU), London (USC) and Bell (PU).
Didn’t their kids miss a whole year as well? Michigan has 1 loss maybe 2. Msu for goodness sake has a better record than us, notre dame, Texas a and m, and 24 more teams. Illinois beat us and iowa beat us with less and even a head coaching change.
So let’s not make things up to make us feel better.

I have always said your team and individuals on the team have potential, it is the managers ( coaches) coaches job to help those individuals and team to realize their potential!

Absolutely. We do things the right way. Everyone else cheats. Ours does not stink. Franklin gets a mulligan last year for COVID and this year for being the year following COVID.
Ok you are correct in that Bell has less touchdowns . I believe that is the only area that Dotson has a statistical edge on any of the three. The other two have more receptions , more TD’s and more yards. Bell has more receptions and yards. Dotson is a great player it’s just these three have better stats in 8 out of 9 instances.
Never disputed that Dotson is really good. Most of these awards however go by stats and don’t really know how the Award people make their decisions or the voting process but every team , coaches and fanbase are partial to their own guy. As they should be .
