Unless Tomlin gets caught in some sort of legal issue, Steelers won't fire him. Not their way. Worst thing for the franchise was him winning a Super Bowl. We're tied to him for as long as he wants to coach/drag down the franchise.

New Orleans, Houston, Arizona, LA Chargers? Dallas, if they fall on their faces at the end of the season? On top of that, you have to wonder how much longer Pete Carroll and Belichek will coach before they retire?

To the other point, Tomlin’s job couldn’t be safer. The Rooneys do not fire coaches. Teams that rotate coaches frequently never seem to find success. If you watch this Steelers team, they are not very talented. However, from week 1 until now they have shown gradual improvement. Maybe not as obvious as some think, but the OL is a patchwork of lesser talent and they were forced to play a rookie QB. Pickett has shown improvement. Unfortunately, he probably sustained his second concussion of the season today. They had to play Trubisky, who turned the ball over multiple times. I’m not a fan of the OC, Matt Canada, and if his hiring was Tomlin’s idea then his dismissal should be encouraged by the Rooneys. The defense is pretty good with Watt and it is downright awful without him. They give up too many rushing yards for a long time Steeler fan like myself. That needs to be addressed in the off season, but it will have to wait until then. There is no easy fix now. Tomlin will most likely stay as long as he wishes. I think he is a pretty good coach, but not a spectacular coach.

Yeah, his contract runs through 2024 so I think he sticks around at least until then. They tend to not renew contracts rather than "firing" someone. I'm ready for a new coach that plays to win, not a coach that plays not to lose. All of those wasted years with winning records and only a couple of playoff wins to show for it has been disappointing.

The league is now offensively biased, and the days of Steel Curtain are over. Offenses win games and the Steelers need to adjust to that. They have the highest paid defense yet gave up 215 yards rushing today with a second and third string QB at the helm. This is with a defensive coaching staff that's supposed to be fantastic.

Not a Steelers fan but has Tomlin ever had a losing season?

Be careful what you wish for.
The difference between the Browns and the Steelers is the front office, not the coaches. I'm good with a new coach. I'm confident the front office won't screw it up.

I don’t either, but I would like that as well. Unfortunately, I think he is on the sidelines in Dallas next year.
LA--with the Chargers. Herbert will be even more awesome with that coach.
