It's really not that hard. It's a fact that we did better than most thought we would...however flawed that is. It's a fact that we won a couple of games we had no business winning. It's a fact that we played much better in Feb and were much more competitive against the top half of the league than we were in Jan. This all started with me saying there were some positives we can hopefully build on. Apparently that's argumentative.

Well, we did slightly better in February because our schedule was light on the back end. We played UGA, Ole Miss and LSU, who were the fellow bottom-feeders.

I look at the UT game. On 1/7 they beat us by 43. On 2/25 they beat us by 40. Then I look at Ole Miss. We got hammered by them at home, eked out a win on the road and then lost a close on at a neutral size in the SECT. Just doesn't show a lot of progress.

Exactly. Nobody is saying he's good...nobody is saying we're good. But there's no use in bashing the guy every day. Might as well find some little reasons to believe better days are ahead...and I believe we have some.
Yes ,I have said that Tanner screwed up the search. You have to start somewhere to build. One can be negative, But it won't get us anywhere because Paris will be given at least as much time as Horn was given.....4 years., and it VERY well could be 5 years. I look for the positives and hope for the best. That being said, I would add I feel that you will know what you got in a Head Coach after 3 seasons. And trying to be positive ,it APPEARS to me that Paris got a couple of quality recruits. We'll see what happens

I think everyone is in agreeance, which is why this thread is so frustrating. We shouldn't have ended up with Paris. But we did, and will have to deal with it for 4 years. It took Frank 4 years to get to the NIT, 5 years for the NCAAT.

Read an article today and Richey was quoted saying he had offers last year but he did not want to leave Furman with the last game of the season being a bitter loss. Furman lost to UT-Chat. in the finals of the SoCon tourney. That was not the way he wanted to leave Furman. Also stated he loves Greenville and it's a growing city and region and has the makings of a solid area for basketball. Just stating what he said. So it has to be a two way street and Richey says he wasn't ready to leave at the time.
