On the agenda: Phase 1 Approval of Williams-Brice Stadium Development Project

This apparently does not seem to relate to the retail/dining development project but to WB specifically.

Would the BOT even be involved with the retail/dining development project? It would not be USC money being spent on those.

Sounds like it's for building more premium suites.

Does adding premium suites take away seats for regular folks?

Was hoping it'd be something more meaningful.

How about we turn the Floyd football building into a hotel ?
Turn that end into a great premium seating section with an inside concession concourse accessible from both main sides of the stadium. Holding that end-zone hostage to the Floyd Building is outrageous. Just do something great down there and name it for them, I don't care.

You can count on it. But don't worry, Tanner said capacity will not drop below 70,000.

This is certainly one of those "don't piss on my shoe and tell me it's raining" kind of things.

How about upping it to 90,000?

It means more money. Get in step. You have to enlarge the footprint to add seats if you take seats away for suites. We ain't enlarging the footprint.

I hate to break it to you but more money helps the more winning side of the argument. Having said that that, I’m totally against anything that lowers the seating capacity of Willy B . The new release on this phase seemed to be talking more about upgrading areas around the stadium. Going forward, sure , do something great with the single deck end zone, but not at the expense of seating capacity.

Reduced seating capacity is a done deal.
