In all the expansion talk, it's imperative to remember that if we expand to 14 or even moreso, 16 teams then we as a conference are going to need more bowl slots. I would think the potential would be there to obviously have more bowl eligible teams. And, we as State fans don't want to find ourselves shut out in a 6-6 or even 7-5 scenario. Below is a link to the Big 12 site that shows that leagues current tie-ins. I would think some of those would want to go Pac 12 assuming all goes as forecast with Texas and OU. However, a couple of them could want to migrate to the new SEC. I can definitely see the Independence trying to beg their way back into the fold much to my chagrin! The Alamo would be a nice bowl. Even the Sun. Maybe the Texas Bowl. We already have the Cotton and unlike them we have the Gator every year. Something I think would be good would be that if Mizzou comes into the league, the SEC helps to generate interest in a new bowl in the dome in St. Louis. While the city itself isn't incredible or anything, it's not a bad city and gives another domed stadium for a bowl. Could be sponsored by a certain beer company. Thoughts?

does collapse, the Independence bowl would trip over themselves to get back in our good graces. Heck, they might anyway.
Meanwhile, I'll throw out the New Orleans bowl as one that has potential solely due to location. Not sure they couldafford thepayouts we'd wanteven withthe largerattendance we'd bring, though. Still, the concept of turning New Orleans into a purely SEC town for about a three week stretch has some appeal.
Do like the idea of a bowl in St. Louis.
