Wonder what this does to the potential commitment from Antonio Tripp?

The roster is so short of true OT's and both Birchmeier and Miller are inside OL players, surely Trautwein and Franklin want 3 true OT's (or at least 2 true OT's and 1 swing olinemen) for the remainder of a 5 player OL 2023 class, and Tripp looks to be strictly an inside olinemen.

Could they take 6 olinemen in this class to make up for the misses the last 2 years? More likely that they take 3 more olinemen for 5 total the those 3 all being quite capable of playing OT, and any other olinemen come in via the Portal.

part of the problem is the mix. while 40% of the OL positions are at OT, only a small % of the HS OL players can play OT. The few who can actually play the position are being recruited by everyone. Some of the best at Iowa were actually recruited as TEs, and grew to OT. hard position to recruit. Not sure but isnt the avg pay in the NFL well over 3x for OT vs rest of OL?

I believe that’s for Left OT, normally the R OT doesn’t get as much, but things are changing
