said he is trying to get a personal meeting with Mullen so that he can explain to him his plan for the D.

Not sure about being a DC. I think he could do a good job but is not considered a defensive mastermind. He was a DC at Baylor from 1999-2001. During that time Baylor was ranked 102 (1999), 109 (2000), and 88 (2001).

good recruiter but don't think the D would get much better with him.

Kinda like Ron Cooper.
Brick is a good defensive line coach. Ron Cooper totally sucks as a coach. I'm happy with Brick if he becomes our DC.

It also shows that Dan Mullen is more confident in his abilities as a head coach. He doesn't feel the need to have another Head Corch on staff to lean on.

Good to Very Good recruiter...from what I hear.
Good DL coach and I could see him being a good DC.

The only concern I do have is that he didn't do all that great at Baylor, but it was Baylor. It's not like he was at Texas and necessarily had a ton of talent and messed up. Like Willie Martinez.

I would hope that he has gotten even better over the years. And while it's not my first choice, I think he could be pretty good. I would feel better about Brick than I would Torbush or Willie Martinez.

I think he would make a good DC EVENTUALLY. Remember that this was 10 years ago that he was at Baylor. 10 years of college/NFL experience goes a long way. I think this would be a pretty good hire, but i also think we could do better.

With the d-line. Who is going to coach the LBers? Brick is a good recruiter, but we need a DC and a lb coach.

Turner and Joker Phillips are pretty big buddies. If Brooks retires - and right now that threat is a power play to get more resources - then Phillips will make a run at Turner.

He's been bouncing around a lot over the years (like most college assistants). I'm sure he'd love to have the opportunity and would probably turn out to be a decent DC. I'm a little worried because I don't think the Bears really cared to keep him, and LSU fans don't seem to care if he leaves.

But I can see him & Mullen being a good combination.

I'm of the way of thinking that if you are a good coach, you will win, or at least be pretty good, no matter where you are. His rankings there were absolutely bottom of the barrel. His D's were worse that Croom's offenses, think about that.
