"College" football is something to be remembered, like steam locomotives and civil debate.
I was with you for the first sentence or two. Don't agree about the no regard, though- I think it's just minimizing risk to achieve a big payday. Not surprising. Most of these guys have been treated as spoiled prima donnas since an early age. Similar to most of the rest of this modern society, everything is about the almighty dollar. No regard for fans, team mates, the institution, it’s all about me me me.
The only thing I don’t get is why anyone would travel to the sh.. hole that is florida to watch this.
Trust me, I'm use to it, the College game isn't nearly as exciting as it once was, and I've come to grips with that.Get use to it, I could Invision in the very near future, the NFL will cut a deal with the NCAA to permit players be eligible for the draft following attendance at three college semesters.
I doubt this. the NFL doesnt want them younger, they want them older, more mature and better trained. The players, especially the Vets dont want this, they want the money for them. I doubt you see the NFL do this any time soon.Get use to it, I could Invision in the very near future, the NFL will cut a deal with the NCAA to permit players be eligible for the draft following attendance at three college semesters.

I'm sure that, if you guaranteed their future income, they would all play. I'm not sure why you wouldn't do that ... unless YOU were a spoiled prima donna that only cares about the almighty dollar with no regard for fans, the team, and the institution. Not surprising. The responses in this thread supporting those that opt out, forego their commitment, quit early, etc, are indicative of a society that has become soft and concerns itself with nothing but money and individualism
I would think NFL GM’s and owners would view these quitters as having a character defect, but then again I’ve been accused of just being old fashioned, as seems to be the case in this example.
As an old man I recall the days when the bowl season was an exciting finale to the season, but I guess as they say, “all good things come to an end.“
As I mentioned above, since you are not concerned with money, pony up a guarantee for their future contracts and I'm sure these guys, who are so selfishly concerned about their and their family's future, will play. The responses in this thread supporting those that opt out, forego their commitment, quit early, etc, are indicative of a society that has become soft and concerns itself with nothing but money and individualism

There's a reason Beaver $tadium was renovated to fit 107,000. It certainly wasn't for comfort for the fans. The responses in this thread supporting those that opt out, forego their commitment, quit early, etc, are indicative of a society that has become soft and concerns itself with nothing but money and individualism

That was as ridiculous as kids skipping their Sr yr of high school.Parsons opted out of a whole year. The GMs who passed on him should be fired.
