That’s hilarious. There’s a small chance I would have watched at least a few minutes of the women’s Olympic team with her on the roster. Zero chance I watch without her. I’ve got to imagine there’s millions of people like me. What a dumb decision

Kinda like golf with Tiger. I was 100x more interested when he played.

This is exactly where I land.

Here’s a thought. How about take the best players available. I don’t think anyone thinks she’s one of the best player’s available yet. It’ll actually probably be better for her to get a break after the short break between college season & pro season.

Isn’t the NBA giving the WNBA reparations?
No.
The NBA owns 50% of the NBA while the teams own the other half.
About $15mm each year is moved into the WNBA by the NBA.

When one company owns 50% of another company and helps fund the second company, that isn't reparations.

You know that isn't reparations, but still chose to phrase your 'question' in that way. That's unfortunate.

Meh. Christian laettner was on the dream team.
The better parallel to me would be Larry Bird. He could barely walk at that time. He could not even sit on the bench during the game and had to lay on his belly. But the NBA knew he could not be left off the team.

There’s a lot of back room politicking at USA Basketball. The men’s team selection process can be just as bad. It’s not surprising that she got left off the team.

The sad part, i would probably tried to watch most of USA games if she was on the team. Probably wont watch any, not because of boycotting. I could care less because of politicking.
It’s almost like there’s something besides growing the game that’s important to these people.
They dont want her to be bigger than WNBA!

Why limit the rosters to 12 in the first place?

Maybe limit to 12 per game, but the Olympics only come around every 4 years. Why not let each country determine how many players should be allowed to represent them? It might make sense to give players like Clark and Reese some experience in the preliminary blowouts so when they're leading the team in 2028 it's not a new experience for them.

Whether she started or not, this is not a good look for the WNBA. If this were when we still selected college athletes instead of professionals, it would not be a story.

Yep. Caitlin isn’t a progressive activist or trashy lesbian, so they hate her.
Good17inglord this take, in all it's forms, is just straight pathetic.

All accounts are that she is respected and valued by teammates, coaches, and the league.

A few people taking shots at her on the court is the exception.
And people who are generational talent and hyped are often challenged in a dirty way- it happened to lebron, curry, durant, etc etc. And they are often hated by a small group for being hyped and focused on so much.
