193 million extension for a fat kid who won’t play any meaningful basketball from now on?? Can’t believe they extended Zion… what a joke

It is very suspect. Chances are his career goes the way it has gone so far (injured most of the time). However, if he can somehow stay healthy (i.e., lose some weight so his joints and tendons get some relief) - then he's a legit top 10 player that can take a team to the Finals. Imagine letting him go and he does that for another team? Then you'll have the NBA version of the Curse of the Bambino.

One of the lessons players never really learned from MJ was that he was the best conditioned player in the league. Lebron would also fall in that catergory. He has been amazingly fit. They were able to dominate in the 4th quarter because they had plenty left in the tank.

Reminds me of former Kentucky QB Jared Lorenzen regarding health and Cam Newton regarding injuries and being on the field producing. Like many before him, it seems money has taken away his ambition and work ethic. Michael Jordan had both and look at the results he achieved athletically and monetarily.

It is a crazy amount of a money for a player who has been injured as much as healthy.

If I were the Pelicans, I'd be monitoring every single calorie that goes in his mouth.

Yeah. But man that’s a big if. He has shown already he can’t/won’t lose the weight.

That’s very true. I don’t think he’s ever had to work hard to dominate. I think he’s just been able to put in minimal effort, and because he’s such an explosive athlete, no one could really stop him. Now he has to face his toughest opponent - his own ego/mind.
