Every year the guy under achieves and yet the Steelers keep him. Another end of year losing streak. How wonderful.
Tomlin is a rah-rah guy who can maintain a talented team at a pretty high level. He’s not a rebuild and out scheme type of coach.

You saw that from Steichen on the opposing sideline tonight. The Colts embarrassed Tomlin with Gardner Minshew and their #3 and #4 RBs.

I'm not sure many here will get this but "play the music".

It’s not Tomlin so much as it is the QB talent and some of the surrounding cast. The Steelers are in a decline in overall talent level and that is as much luck as it is in less than optimal drafting and talent acquisition.

With a top 10 QB, this team is much better. This is an observation from a non-Steelers fan looking from the outside of Pittsburgh fandom.

Yea these last 3 weeks have been bad. I don't think I've ever Steeler players just quit during plays (Hello WR room) before.
I'm also tired of his idiotic sound bites and quotes. I still don't think Matt Canada is a good OC but the issues with the Steelers go a lot deeper than just Matt.

He's had Superbowl caliber talent teams that have consistently underperformed as well. The Steelers should have at least another ring or 2 with the talent they've had under Tomlin. Possibly the worst thing for the Steelers organization (I'm a Steelers fan) was Tomlin winning one with Cowher's guys early. That gave him another 15 years of not playing to their talent level and slowly declining over much of that time.

I liked the Colts helmets. They seemed eerily similar to some other helmet....slight differences.....just not sure where I have seen that look before....

It’s become an offensive centric league. Defensive minded coaches like these guys have become dinosaurs very quickly.
That hit by Kazee used to be celebrated until James Harrison was nearly killing guys out there. The rules changed and Tomlin hasn't. Offense wins. Even in college football, Saban has acknowledged it.

I’m confused by the ejection rules in the NFL. Was it a vicious hit? Yes. But, there isn’t necessarily a targeting call in the NFL, right? Just unsportsmanlike conduct. And don’t they usually give a player 2 unsportsmanlike penalties before the ejection? There were several questionable calls in that game on both sides. Just very inconsistent calls and a lot of flags.

I think Pickett could be serviceable with the right offensive scheme and coaching. However, his ceiling is a Kurt Cousins like career with A LOT of talent around him to help. The other two on the roster have had enough opportunities to prove themselves and they haven’t.

They'll eject a guy on one hit if they deem it flagrant. They are much more willing to throw a guy out after one play like they did there (and the ejection is coming from New York, not the on-field officials). I thought it was a pretty obvious ejection while watching it, based on how games have been officiated all season.

Pickens dropped to the Steelers in the draft because of his attitude at Georgia. Now Tomlin has to answer questions about him every week. The rest of the team is pissed off. He's lost the team.

I was at a wedding last night and sat next to a Pittsburgh native and die hard Steeler fan. He said the debate he and his buddies are having is would you trade TJ Watt and Kenny for one of the top couple draft picks to take a QB? Makes for an interesting conversation even though not likely to happen.

Of course you would...but no team would ever consider doing that.

It depends on who you view as the next great NFL QB? Many say Maye has all the intangibles and is the top QB prospect. I personally don’t see it. Some say Caleb Williams. He certainly is athletic enough, but I don’t think he is a sure fire can’t miss either. The Heisman kid? Maybe? But, I don’t think they need to make a drastic deal like the one you describe to get another possible QB solution. If they finish sliding like they are now, they should have a mid first round pick. I think they could probably get a kid like Penix Jr without making any moves in that circumstance. I think that is realistic and should be considered. The draft picks they got last year have made considerable contributions this year. It appears last year was a good draft, but they need a QB, OL, and DL. Heyward isn’t getting any younger.
