I guess he saved his job by beating a bunch of garbage teams down the stretch this season. 🤬

I wasn't thrilled when I heard Leftwiches named being mentioned but he would be better than Jet Sweep Matt.

They don't want to improve but I'm supposed to waste my time and money and be all passionate about garbage.
I guess it's better than Bellichick not naming an OC then letting his former DC make all the offensive calls this season. OK, maybe only slightly better.

Time to sharp the pitch forks and light the torches in preparation for next season.

With supply chain issues being what they are, are there enough pitch forks and torches to cover Stillers and Penn State fans?

You're right, because they have a history of not firing coaches mid season.
That’s the way it should be.

Well, again, good luck with this. I’m finding it hard to see the positive in retaining Canada but perhaps I’m not trying hard enough.

Giving Pickett consistency in his coordinators was surely a consideration. I thought Pickett had a decent first year, all things considered.

For a guy who can’t even grip a football, he did quite well.

Hiring Canada as QB coach in 2020 was stupid, given his spotty resume (which at the time included ZERO NFL experience). That stupidity was taken up a notch by promoting him to OC in 2021. The decision to retain him in that role for 2022 was off the charts stupid, as was letting him finish out the season. There simply are no words for retaining him for 2023.

Feel free to commence the “you’re not a coach, what the hell do you know” diatribe . . .

Well, this news sucks. Canada is very predictable. Pickett played well, but that offense is restricted with Canada calling the plays. They are wasting talent with Pickett, Pickens, Johnson, Friermuth, and Harris. Imagine what a really sharp offensive mind like Sean Payton could do with those weapons. Granted the offensive line has been mediocre at best, but they appeared to be improving towards the end of the season.

So who is the stubborn one that has to prove he was right in hiring Canada? Rooney or Tomlin?

The head coach for the Steelers doesn't report to the GM and has free reign over his assistant coaches. Personally I never cared to blame assistant coaches for schemes as they are beholden to run what the head coach wants.
