Obviously in terms of great qbs he wasn’t great or nfl caliber but I’ll take a Terry Wilson all day every day.
Stoops f***** himself when he “accepted” the A&M job. Dude, we gave you a head coaching gig in the nation’s best conference when you had no head coaching experience. We waited patiently through some lean years because we knew you inherited a sub-par roster. We kept giving you raises to the point you became a top 10 paid coach even though you averaged about what… 7.5 regular season wins a year? And then you want to bail on us, all the while bitching about players having no loyalty, they’re just in it for the money, etc etc…

No. Terry Wilson was below mediocre most of the time. He is remembered in a good way because it was during the good times. Terry Wilson was not good at all. Terry just had a very good OL, very good RB, and very very good defense.
Throw in George Blanda and Paul Hornung if you are reaching back decades.

You’re not wrong but he gave us production and a ten win season. I gotta give him some credit tho. But what you said about everybody else being better is true. I wouldn’t call him terrible tho. I don’t see a qb on this team that would have did what Terry did even if they had the same weapons so he actually was a good athlete and won a couple games with his play alone imo.

Defense isn’t really the problem. They’ve only given up 14 through 3. It’s unrealistic to think you can ask more than that against a decent conference opponent in 2025, particularly how much they’ve been on the field.
As it has been 10/12 years, the offense is the problem. Hold on to the ball and put three TD’s on the board and we likely win this one. But that’s way too much to ask for this team.
