Sorry if this has already been posted. I'm on my Blackberry and I have trouble seeing the threads. Watson is from Alabama and is a left handed pitcher that has topped out at 95. He had offers from Bama, Auburn, College of Charleston, and was about to be offered by LSU and Georgia. Pretty good pickup for Cohen.

But you have to go after these high school guys that will be flirting with the pro draft. Many times they will end up going to college. By the way, Donnie Tabb of Neshoba Central committed to MSU today. He's considered one of the top 3 players in the state. He's also African American, so you know Polk wouldn't recruit him. I've been hearing about this guy for about a year now. Cohen is getting the talent in here. It just took someone that wanted to go out and bring it in and not sit back like Polk.

we need a signing day to occur now and sign all these baseball and football commits before they get taken away.

On the baseball side for the 2009 class, I fully expect MSU to have a top 3 or 4 class nationally. They will basically do what LSU did I believe last year. They signed over 20 players and had the top class in the nation. I think we'll see the exact same thing here. If we aren't in the top 5, I'd be beyond shocked.

..I think we all agree that going the route of not having to worry about MLB hasn't worked out in our favor.

The SEC has as many good prospects as some of the minor leagues- if not more. You have to have talent to just compete. If you have a bunch of "nice kids" and you play up to your potential, that usually equals 8-12th place in the SEC. We have all seen that.

And the thing about recruiting these players with a pretty good deal of talent is there is also a chance that some are going to go to school- and then you end up with a pretty darn good player.

Nobody will take any of our baseball commits and I bet we don't lose many of the football commits. So good to see us using the same recruiting strategies more successful schools have been using for years in baseball. I can guarantee that every coach in the SEC took notice when we hired Cohen.

on how long this lasts? I'm betting a couple of games. Coach can only like a guy who hasn't hit the field yet. Once there is something to piss on he will start the bitching. Guess that is the burden of his vast knowledge in all things sports related.

Yep.

The thing Cohen has going for him coach34-wise speaking, it that he hasn't coached a game yet.

Which means he hasn't gone against coach34's game plan yet.

Like you said, coach34 has a such a vast knowledge of sports, we understand where he's coming from when he labels Croom "Crooms" & Stansbury "Stains."

It's not the fault of Croom & Stansbury for "earning" those nicknames.

It's the fault of Jesus for blessing coach34 with such a profound understanding & knowledge of sports.

I'm too lazy to look it up again, but I don't think this kid is very big. 5'11" I think is what I read. He may grow some more though. Anyway, you never really know just going by velocity.

That's sick. It is possible- 46x3= 138 "possible" outs. Of course, you can get more K's if you throw a wild pitch and first base is unoccupied.

How many walks did he have?
