They really have to right? Nobody on the roster justifies this kind of investment in a WR1 other than Dak. They can't trade for one that is just as good but cheaper and drafting a top 5 QB is a crap shoot much less counting on some late round rookie who may not be able to play in the NFL. Lastly, the Cowboys' last 1st round QB draft pick was Troy Aikman....they are just never in position to pick that high.
The investment into lamb Is justified period. What’s the other option? Let him go? If they pay or don’t pay dak, paying lamb wr1 money is a good investment. Where else are you going to spend it. It’s also not a bad salary cap hit. If they choose to rebuild or something of that nature 2 years from now, lamb will get a great return.

listrn to sports radio this weekend. Basically said they get both sides. Dak wants to be paid more than Trevor lawerence and should be by numbers. The cowboys want playoff success and dont want to pay that hefty of a price for someone they deem to not be a championship level QB.

dak has this year to prove the narrative wrong but both will have options.. dak will have the option of taking less money… or play his way into the contract he wants. Dallas has a plan forward with and without dak.…

. But either way lamb wasnt going anywhere… and again plenty of young qbs have taken the next step when paired with a wr1… see miami and tua, hurts with aj brown… a wideout like lamb will attract a good qb even if it’s not dak

Most people who cover Cowboys in Dallas are pretty confident that if a deal doesn't get done with Dak before end of the season he won't be back even if Jerah wants him back. Also, Cowboys would be on the hook to match a qualifying offer which will be higher than what he's probably asking right now.

Dak has all the leverage and it's about to be checkmate.

As far as your young QB comment those are 1st rounders and Dallas will not be in a position to draft that high....Jerah won't allow it...he's on the clock so to speak not much sand left in his hour glass.
