The conferences will have to make up for the Conference Championship Games revenue. The expanded playoffs will have to somehow figure that out.

Watch all the nimrods throw their hands up with fake outrage when the sports go bankrupt.

The format is being created to get more Big 10 and SEC teams in the playoffs.
This is inevitably what will shape all of college sports - it's a tidal wave moving in that direction.

After watching the NC this year and the downright awful officiating, and watching the B10 sweep major sports, it was pretty clear to me that this will be a two conference landscape in due time.

This is obviously stupid. There’s nowhere near 24 championship caliber teams in a given season, but making the actual contenders play more playoff games is going to increase the importance of injury luck in surviving to the end.

It’s also going to really hurt the regular season. A field that big is probably going to include some 4 loss teams, and when that’s the bar, some of the Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, and Georgia’s of the world might as well have autobids. It really kills the drama of marquee games when the loser is almost guaranteed to get a playoff rematch.

There are 69 P5 schools right now so why not just give everyone a bid?

Also invite all 361 teams into the NCAA BB tournament too.

Nobody cares about bowl games anymore so this makes sense to me. Bowl games don’t matter to anyone and probably shouldn’t even count on the record books imo because so many players sit out or transfer. Playoffs like the NCAAT gets big ratings so money talks.

I don't like that the other 40 or so non-playoff teams get left behind to play just 12 games while others play 16 or so. Net, give an extra game outside the playoffs. Make them intersectional. E.g., UK plays Washington or Cal, etc.

We would finally get in at some point though.

Seems like some fans are upset with the NCAA allowing 20% of D1 teams to participate in the basketball tournament but are happy with the NCAA allowing over 18% of FB teams into the FB playoffs.
