Love it. I hope they follow through with doing first 2 rounds on campus. Can you imagine the atmospheres for on campus playoffs? It will be nuts

So according to Brett McMurphy, it will be six conference champions and six at large bids. Only the first round is on campus and then quarter, semi, and championship is at bowls….

So which 6 conferences are getting bids for champions?

No one is automatic. Rank the 10 FBS conference champions and take the best 6, whoever they are. The remaining 6 could still get an at large.

I hate that an American conference team has a better shot at a playoff than us with an automatic bid. That's silly. It completely throws out schedule for them.

Keenum was just on Supertalk. Said everything logistically has to be taken care of before it can happen (hopefully by 24 but that’s not guaranteed). That’s why he wanted to get a vote as soon as possible to get the ball rolling.

So I just heard on super talk it’s not an automatic bid for a conference technically. They’ll take all the FBS conference champions and their ranking and then take the top 6. So technically that could leave out a power 5 champion if say the SEC champion is 1, big 10 is 2, pac 12 is 4, ACC is 5, American is 9, CUSA is 14, big 12 is 15, then the big 12 champion may get left out. And then they’ll take the top 6 non champion teams

Technically, it's the next 6 teams regardless of whether they're a champion or not. There's no requirement that they be a non-champion.

So if you're the 7th best conference champion, you are still in if you're in the top 12.
