Congrats on beating up the little sisters of the poor with a Power 5 budget. You did it!!!!

Everyone does know that they paid him more in his first year than Beamer got, right?

Chadwell also had a proven, successful track record as a Head Coach. at multiple stops, unlike Beamer who we rolled the dice on. The jury is still out on Shane.

I will never understand the love affair so many of our fans have with Chadwell. If he hadn't coached in the state of South Carolina, most of our fans would have never heard of him.

The point was that he's playing with a stacked deck at Liberty. They have an SEC budget in the worst conference in the country - it's not a fair fight. So I would hope they go undefeated - doesn't say much about Chadwell's ability though.

When this came up before, it was pointed out that Liberty was 8-5 last year. That was explained as being a collapse when their coach was rumored to be leaving.

But the year before they were 8-5 too. I am pretty sure if that happened here, we would call it a huge success.

I think a good point though, is that he hadn't done it only at Liberty, but at every stop. It certainly appears to be a trend more than an anomaly.

Chadwell would not only coach circles around Beamer but also how to build a program & how important it is to actually have an identity but as usual most don't know jack ....

I do not know the budget of the other schools in that conference. I do know that with that budget, Hugh Freeze never went undefeated, And Freeze went only 8-5 and 8-4 in his last 2 seasons there with that budget.

Chadwell has won big now at 4 different schools. Liberty hired a proven winner in Chadwell. We ,on the other hand, hired an "experiment" in Shane Beamer (and you know I'm right about Beamer). I like Shame Beamer and am pulling for him. But, as I said, the jury is still out on him (and you know I'm right about that too).

He's won everywhere he's been. I predict that one day he will be a big name coach and a lot of Carolina fans will still be saying he isn't really that good. Honestly, if Shane's last name was Smith, his daddy was not a head coach and everything else about his history was exactly the same do you think he would have bene hired as the head coach of a P5 program?

A lot of the same people who are belittling Chadwell are the same people who said Kirby was a bad hire for Georgia and were glad we got Muschamp instead.

You are right about that.. BUT we did hear about him while he was at Coastal Carolina. Many of us researched his background, when there was an opening at USC and found he was successful at 2 previous Head Coach stops. So, obviously, many of us "starved for success" fans after the Muschamp debacle, saw a young coach who could potentially give us the nationally relevant football program that Steve Spurrier gave us a taste of. After the crappy season we had this year under Beamer, combined with the big success that Chadwell is having again, I'm not surprised that fans are bringing up Chadwell. Many are doing "what ifs" in their minds.

Hopefully, Beamer can turn things around at Carolina , and soon. If he does, you won't hear Chadwel's name. Beamer right now, "is on the clock".

This is Liberty's first year in Conference USA. Prior to that they were independent and would have play power 5 teams each season. This year they played zero power 5 teams.

I've never made any predictions about his future, whether he will be a good P5 coach or now, because it's absolutely impossible to tell. If you compared resumes, which coach would you have predicted would win 2 national titles and play for 2 others, Swinney or Herman? Coaching hires are just a total crapshoot.

That being said, it's not like Chadwell is an unknown. He's 46 years old. Certainly not old, but lots other guys got their P5 break before the age of 46. All I can do is assume there's a reason no P5 school has shown any serious interest in him. Some were prediction him to be a home run hire in the SEC, but half or more of all the SEC jobs have come vacant in the past few years, and nobody looked at Chadwell.

If he really is that good, it's better that he take the step up to Liberty. If he stays there a couple more years and does well and Beamer doesn't get it going here, then we can have our shot at him.

OK. Well then I'm even more impressed with what Chadwell has done this season. Unless you are Notre Dame, it's a big disadvantage to recruit without conference affiliation.

The point is that Chadwell has now won big at FOUR different schools. There's an old adage that goes: "One time can be luck; two times can be a coincidence; but three times makes a trend". Chadwell has done it now FOUR times..

It does not matter. I predict that Jamey Chadwell will never be the Head Football Coach at the University of South Carolina. The Chadwell train has left the station. I doubt he will be available if we have to fire Beamer in 2025.

Why are so angry about him not being here? NO P5 school has looked seriously at him.

I'm not angry about him at all. I'm angry that our beloved university, after the inexplicable hiring of a proven failed coach (Muschamp) and expected failure of that coach, would roll the dice and experiment with a nepotism baby in Shane Beamer, who has not had previous experience as a Head Coach.

Regarding Chadwell again, if Hugh Freeze, with all his baggage, went from Liberty to a SEC Head Coach job, I'm darn well sure that Chadwell's next stop is a P5 Head Coaching job. If I was Tony Elliott or Brent Pry, I would not get comfortable. And supposedly, Tanner did interview Chadwell.

MSU is not P5?

I missed where he got an interview at MSU, my bad. But they went with a 39 year old who has no head coach experience over Chadwell, who is 46 and, as noted many times above, has won at 5 head coaching stops.

There's just some reason no P5 school is buying him I don't claim to know what it is. Stock is saying he's a no-brainer hire, but no P5 AD out there feels that way. Again, I don't know why and I make no predictions about his future as a head coach.

He has been at Liberty for only one season. Billy Napier was n the Sun Belt 4 seasons. Hugh Freeze was at Liberty 4 seasons. If Chadwell keeps doing what he is doing now at Liberty and what he did at his previous 3 stops, he will get a P5 Head Coach job. You can't keep a good coach down.

Some on here have said he turned down o e or more SEC schools. And that he had a desire to stay in a certain area.
