OKTOBER SURPRISE.

The Owls damaged Liberty's playoff chances. Lot of beer drinking tonight in North Marietta, Kennesaw and Ackworth. HOOT HOOT

Kennesaw has become a huge school, 40,000 undergrads. Lots of North Georgia kids who can't into UGA and want to stay relatively close to home end up there. If they focus on athletics they could become a power in their division, especially once their large graduating classes become contributing alumni.

Yep, the whole place has developed impressively since sometime in the mid-2000s (I think). It used to be pretty much a two-year school made up almost exclusively of commuters. It became a four-year school, absorbed Southern Tech (I don't recall if that was after or along with becoming a 4-year institution), and it has not had athletics all that long. But in the short time it has fielded teams, it's had some success in FCS football and some decent baseball teams.

Kennesaw State absorbed Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta. Kennesaw now uses both campuses as I understand it.

If my recollection is correct, weren’t they D2 in the Peach Belt in the early 90’s.
