None of these were called against Michigan:

This was called against UW, negating the longest play of the game in the 4th quarter when still trailing by only 7:

Yeah, it seemed one sided. I can only hope there are other clips showing a lot of holding on UW that I missed.

That one that called back UW's big play was pathetic. I think the ref saw the guy go down and assumed there was holding.

I hate instant reply but think it's absurd that plays can't be reviewed for penalties. They can have enormous impact on the game. If the goal is supposedly to "get it right" it makes no sense that penalties aren't part of that.

greed, butbi cringe at the idea of how long we'd have to wait for so many calls and no calls to be reviewed.

I like the idea, just the implementation bothers me.

I hate instant reply for a number of reasons, not least of which is how is totally wrecks the flow of the game.

However, on a few of the holding calls, ESPN had the instant replay up in about 5 seconds and they were blatant. They should easily be able to see that, radio down, throw the flag and make the call in not much more time than usual. Again, if it's all about "getting it right" I can't see letting 10 yard penalties slide when they can have a significant impact on the game.

I had a thread about this back during the XFL season last year. Their replay was FAST, and I liked it. They even allowed cameras to watch, so you could see and hear the discussion.

I bet we'd be furious to hear the conversation that drags on during the current replays.

I understand Tebow was on ESPN decrying the officiating earlier today. I think it was Tebow.

I'm sure if someone wanted to they could go find a handful of jersey tugs by UW players that didn't get called. But amazingly, nobody is interested in that. Mich was clearly better. And clearly outclassed them at every position on the field. All I heard about was how these amazing WRs for UW were going to dominate the Mich secondary. Mich was one on one with those dudes in open space all night, and just completely shut them down.

Refs were bad last night but don't hold a candle to the incompetence of SEC refs.

What are the chances anything comes from the sign stealing issue? Meaning, is that title in any sort of jeapordy?

0.000000000%.

Does anyone think the NCAA is going to strip the University of Michigan of a title? It's been a while since they've won a title, but they are as blue blood as you get.
