Hopefully. Was at the game and the feeling by many including Clemson fans was this win could be the start of the changing of the guard. Let's hope so. Could be a great springboard for recruiting as well.
I think that might be a little premature. Dabo is continuing to recruit pretty strong. Obviously he needs to fix the quarterback position. If we see Florida State going around them and staying around them, that will be another indicator of program slippage. FSU is light years better than they were a year ago, but UPC still beat them, if not badly.

That's the thing. It's been proven several times that clemson can be the best team in their conference whilst not even being the best in their state.

I can think of six times lately when they weren't and seven times lately that they were.

If you want to win 2 in a row against Clemson, pray that the DJ kid sticks around. Their guy on the bench would probably transfer rather than sit and watch that headcase play any more .

And every series/snap he takes in the spring and fall is just that much less for them to get anyone else ready.

Yeah, I dunno if I'd go that far yet. We eked out a 1 point win in a game when Clemson didn't play their best. No, not diminishing our win at all. We played better. Coached better. Executed better. I just wouldn't get too eager about Clemson being on a decline yet.

Unfortunately, you're right. As I said before, their weakness is that qb. If they luck out and he transfers or (lol) tries to go pro, we may need to play them when they have a running and passing attack.

The main thing here is that we’ve clearly closed the gap. I think a lot of that is we have improved, and that they don’t have the best QB in the country for 6 consecutive seasons.

Our guys now know they can beat them. But Clemson tends to use losing to us as motivation to change things that need to be changed. They likely move on from DJ, and maybe even Brandon Streeter. It certainly won’t shock me if Jeff Scott and Streeter are Co-OC’s in a few weeks. Also won’t be shocked to see them finally use the portal to their advantage. They’ll use this as motivation to fix the mistakes.

We just need to capitalize off the momentum. I do like having the in-state guys. Of course I wish we had the studs nationally, and maybe we’ll get a few. But in these rivalry games if the talent is comparable that motivation of playing for something certainly can give an edge.

Keep in mind we threw a pick 6, and got screwed out of 7 which led to 2. We easily could’ve won this game by 2-3 scores and I think most Clemson fans realize that. Fox the mistakes and the flukes, and maybe we’ll be competitive going forward.

it helps being at home next year too, though that hasn’t always been a huge advantage. I think it’s more of them being better than us though.

Some rumors on the Clemson boards say Dabo is wearing headphones all game again and has a hand in the playcalled, either actually calling the plays or approving them. Very similar rumors were going around when Napier was his OC and was the scapegoat when things didn't go well.

Yesterday's game reminded me of the 1985 movie, "Back To The Future", when George McFly smacked down the bully, Biff. After that, Biff was never the same.

There are two components to the in-state balance. Clemson's going to do whatever Clemson's going to do - improve, stay the same, or regress. It's up to us to make sure we improve. It just so happens that Clemson's jump from good to great occurred at the exact same time the wheels came off our own program, which was previously very good. Had we maintained our program at 2011-2013 levels over the past 8 years, it's unlikely Clemson would have won 7 in a row. We need to just keep going in an upward trajectory and the balance of power with Clemson will take care of itself.

And we beat them on their field with less talent on the roster. Id say they are in the beginning stages of slipping...

Stated it could be the start. Didn't say we were there yet. For Gamecock Nation though, no doubt this is a change and could be a springboard to turning things around and hopefully better things to come on a consistent basis. We will see how it goes from here, but the last two weeks have been absolutely incredible.
