RIGGGGHHHHTTTTTTT

thats why when the job came open all the big names threw their hats in the ring to try to get that job and land in basketball country.

Sorry but a school that been to the sweet 16.. 2 times in the last 20+ years... hasnt been to a final 4 in over 20 years and hasnt won a natty in nearly over 40 years... has been passed by many many many many many schools.

The job is a career ender, not somewhere people want to go any big name will want to go. It'll never get back up to the level it was in the 70-80s, yet people there think they should and i guess people like you as well... therefore the expectations are so high, they cannot be reached any more.

Its nebraska football.

if it were half the program you claim it to be... when the job came open, everyone would be seeking it out.

Wait. Are you talking about Mississippi State baseball or Indiana basketball. I kind of got confused about halfway through which one.

youre on the right track... someone with the history the last 20 years of Mississippi state.... is basketball country and a sought after job.

Again its nebraksa football... indiana basketball hasnt been on the national stage in years and their best days are behind them, not infront. Why would any coach run to that situation?... epsecially when SEC/ACC schools are paying coaches top of the line money and have a big bigger NIL budget.

Last 22 years, Indiana basketball has underperformed. 10 wins in only 8 NCAA tournaments. But that's one of those jobs like Alabama, Southern Cal or Texas football. They can be mediocre for 20 years, but all it takes is the right coach and they're right back in the top 5 every year.

I bet it'll still be a lot better than ours.
I'm referring to the promises made to Kiffin and Beard.

It's going to cost $8 million of NIL to compete with the best of the SEC. Did they tell Beard they would compete with the best of the SEC? Where does that money come from?

not even close. Its nebraska football.

The difference in Texas, USC, Alabama football is they had the bankroll and the budget and the NIL funding so accure the talent and coach... also when those schools struggled it was due to probaation issues wiht the NCAA. None of those schools have had a 40 year stretch where they didnt win a natty since they arrrived on the scene..... lets please not even act like indiana basketball is in that realm..... theyve been passed and passed in a big way. Again if any of the major names felt like it was a sleeping giant.. they'd jump all over it. Why havent they?

Not to further sow disagreement, but is it more difficult to win a basketball or football national title? I mean number 1 is UCLA with 11. UK 8. Alabama claims what about 120 football NCs?

Never seriously considered for another job, yet gets raise and better players. Pitino lobbied for him to get the Indiana job. The game within the game

The Texas A&M AD has been taking it on the chin the past couple of years.

There's plenty of old Plantation Money laying around. Just a matter of convincing those old codgers to turn loose of it.

Indiana and Ole Miss have been to the same amount of sweet 16’s the last 20 years. I agree Indiana has really fallen, the only people that really clamor for that job anymore are people that grew up in the area as big Hoosiers fans. I don’t see it ever becoming a top 10 job again.

It will.
As someone else said, put a good coach in there with some NIL $ and see what Indiana basketball can do again.

Not many places will hire Beard. Ole Miss is one. I'd say when Pearl hangs it up at Auburn that's his next gig.

Carter isn't any smarter than any other AD. He just has a very rich and rabid alumni base that is willing to give and do the work.

OM has always been willing to buy players. It was just the ncaa and their rules were in the way. Well guess what....no rules any more.

I forsee them throwing a lot of NIL at Josh Hubbard to make headlines and make us spend more NIL to keep Hubbard

That's what I thought after watching a little of that Midnight Yell thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yeah, the background check is tough for Beard. But he found a place who tries real hard to ignore parts of the past
College athletic programs and most fans place morals and ethics after winning. So do businesses and American politics.

That's not true. If it was Beard wouldn't be at Ole Miss.
