Hopefully they told position players they were recruiting in advance. Otherwise very dishonest imo.

This is where we have to trust Beamer to be open with players about the fact that he’ll get the right guy with the same values and coaching abilities to fill the spots.

This happen to one of my kids... two weeks after signing day (softball) the coach left.
Played every inning her freshman year but couldnt get along with the new coach. That very coach was fired a year later for being a royal b#&%!
Had the portal been in play, maybe she would have continued somewhere else after that first year. Instead she never played again. What a waste of talent.

As for as South Carolina is concerned, I could see where this might apply to Kimrey. Who else? How much time was remaining on Kimrey's contract?

Kids have to learn it’s a business. Their HS coach should let them know.

Or you have Ray Tanner that signed a bunch of kids but when spring came they didnt make the team. Basically took a year from their playing time and most of the time ended their career.
He was notorious for it.

Not at all. Had another kid still playing after that fiasco several years later.
Wouldnt have traded the time I spent watching my kids play or working with them for anything. Do you have kids?
